Official Rankings for 2024
A little bit late, but here is the official statement of the 2024 World Rankings.
Deadline for result checking Jan 31 has passed. And the World Rankings for 2024 is into the History books.
It is the 22nd year since the start of the current ranking model that premiered in 2003.
And we start a new 23rd ranking season for 2025.
2025 also means that we are finally getting out the very old seasons from the 4-year rankings.
We have had old trailing seasons included because of the two cancelled Covid years, 2020 and 2021, when no rankings could be made.
For 2025 we will be back with a normal 4-year streak, 2022-2025.

Latest changes for the rankings.
1. Rankings now completely separating Men and Women
Before we had an "Open & Women" system so women could get points in the Open group as well. This is no longer the case.
All Women will now only show up in the women rank classes.
This does not mean that Men and Women can't race in the same class anymore.
All works the same ase before. We mix classes on events depending on the start field.
And for the rank results in th end all classes are divided up as before.
With that little change that Men and Women now are separated for all classes.
2. Major status handling
- Major (Normal Major points)
- Major+ 10% bonus (WSK supported events)
- Major++ 20% bonus (WSG)
(Only for "Men Pro" and "Women" classes. Not "Men Am", Masters or Juniors).
3. Point balancing system - season rankings
For better balance in between the World Regions.
From March to August when full season results does not yet count.
Different world regions start seasons at different times.
4. Late ranking fixes
A very odd bug concerning handling of "Pro/AM classes", "Multiple Majors" and "very big Open classes" (WSG Men class).
It only affected "PRO Men Season 2024", places 16 and further down in the rankings.
The most visible changes being Petr Matous (CZE) moving up a couple of places to a 16th place.
And Kristaps Mircenko (LAT) moving into top 20 at a 19th place.
Another fix was that women still showed up in the Men classes.
This has also been fixed.
It only affected way down in the listings, since they all got no points for 2024 in these classes.

ISSA BOD 2025 President
I’m honored and excited to take the helm of ISSA and our World Skate working group for Slalom Skateboarding in 2025. After serving on the Board of Directors for the past eight years—several of those as Vice President—I’m ready to take on this new challenge. Thank you to the Board for placing this trust with me and to the membership for the support shown so far.
My mission is simple but ambitious: to keep our eyes on the big picture and do everything we can to elevate our sport to the next level and beyond. Saying it is easy—making it happen is much harder. I know this firsthand. But with the incredible team we have on our Board of Directors, I’m confident we can succeed. Together, we’ll leverage the talent, commitment, and connections that each of us brings to create a new master plan for our sport.
Beyond creating that plan, we must also maximize our limited resources—money being a big one—but just as importantly, tap into the vast talent and passion that exists in our global slalom community. If we organize and work together, I truly believe we can make real progress toward achieving our biggest goals—starting now.
I also want to pay tribute to our former president, Jani Söderhäll, who, after 13 years in office, is stepping back to focus on other goals. Jani has guided us through so much, including a historic milestone: bringing slalom skateboarding to the World Skate Games, with our first appearance in 2022 in Argentina and again in 2024 in Italy. His leadership has been instrumental, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished under his guidance. Thank you Jani!
My hope is to continue building on that momentum as we move forward.
Let’s do this together!
/Maria Carrasco
