interesting new kind of races. I will surely take part into it if qualified. The questions I could have would be the following :
- How will the first batch or racers be chosen ?
- On which kind of course will the last 4 be able to qualify ?

And please make us an exciting giant course !

Vincent.
- How will the first batch or racers be chosen?
Pre-qualified will be a selection taking into account world rankings and maybe also country if needed.
Niklas Hyland and city of Linköping will be in charge of the final selection.
I see myself as an aid to bring forward the list of ordered racers according to that limitation list that exists for the world ranking.
The limitation list has a specified set of rules of how to list racers when wanting to have a limited start list for an event.
Now, this race is not a 100% strict limited field for PRO racers since 25% of the spots are open for pre-qualification.
We have not had this specific situation before so there are no strict rules of how to handle such a situation.
But the selection will be based on the limitation list but there could be a few exceptions.
The limitation list is taking into account ranking and results from 2017 and before. Pre-selected racers will need to know well in advance.
We will try and publish this list as quickly as possible so that everybody can see and prepare with tickets as early as possible. And so we can also make sure the pre-selected PRO racers can attend.

- On which kind of course will the last 4 be able to qualify?
Not decided yet. It could be the real course.
And if so it will also be open for the pre-qualified to test.

- Please make us an exciting giant course!
Since the GS course (and same for the Special) will be made for the Pro class it gives you a lot more freedom to create a challenging course.
But already the factors of having the hill in the middle of the town and running this GS as a parallel race will make it exciting.
It's not yet decided who will set the courses.

Viking Hadestrand wrote:How exactly will the disciplines count for prize money, rankings and overall
PRO class disciplines
2 for prize money (GS and Tight Special counted together on Thursday. Tie breaker Tight Special)
3 for the ranking (GS, Tight Special and Straight will count with Main points towards the World Ranking)
4 for event overall (All pro disciplines: GS, Tight special, Straight and Banked Slalom)

All other class disciplines
(Straight, Banked och Special)
(No prize money)
3 for the ranking
3 for the overall

It's only the pro class that has a complicated setup for this event with two towns involved.
Note! Even if other than PRO racers are invited to qualify for the two pro disciplines in Linköping they will not get any world ranking points for these pro races.

What about starting fee for the racers not pre-qualified for Superfinals? Both for the pre-qualification and for the race in Stockholm?
There will be no start fee for this event. Same for all racers for both Linköping and Stockholm.

Hello Corky and Thanks for starting this topic. I am working extensively with our USA team riders who are planning their travel to Europe for Worlds in Policka and some are planning to stay for the racing in Sweden - Super Final and Stockholm.

Richy Carrasco is confirmed to attend Super Final. Several are planning/considering to come to participate in the qualifying to hopefully earn a spot in the racing finals. We will be staying for the racing at Stockholm along with some of our group.

We would like to know as many details as possible about both competitions so we can get things finalized for travel, lodging, etc. Have the schedules been published yet? Will there be a racer hotel for Linkoping? Any tips, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Maria Carrasco wrote:Why would pre-qualified racers need to go through qualifying for the racing events in Linkoping? I thought that was already decided (by being pre-qualified) and the rest of the slots were what the qualification process was for.
Maria, we need qualifying for all on the day of the race to determine each persons ability now and on that specific course (GS, HS, TS etc). Pre-qualifying with fixed positions will cause really bizarre combinations and be completely unfair. We tried it in Morro Bay in 2002 and it was not working out.

The only advantage that the prequalified riders will get is that they will make it into the top 16 (or whatever number) regardless of their performance.

Maria Carrasco wrote:What is the # of riders that will be racing? 16?
Normally yes, but if there's good attendance with high level, Niklas may make a last minute decision to extend that number to 24 (for example). The "guaranteed" position will then get you into that bracket, then you have to fight you're way through the H2H bracket as usual. You're just guaranteed to be part of the H2H racing.

Maria Carrasco wrote:Also, for the racers who qualify in at Linkoping who are not Pro - how does the rest of the racing in Stockholm work for them? IE - women, am, masters? I know the Pro events are on Friday only.
In Linköping (Wednesday & Thursday) it has been decided that also None-Pro skaters can enter. But those None-Pro results does not count towards the ranking. The None-Pro official events are all on Saturday & Sunday.

Friday is Pro riders only (No Am's)

Saturday & Sunday is for Women, Am, Master & Junior classes.

Schedule for Linköping & Stockholm is here by the way...

Hello!
Can you post please the exact place where races (GS,TS) would be? (may be point on the map like https://www.google.com/maps/place/Stora ... 15.6215902 )

And may be a little information about the transfer? I.e. is it ok to look for transfer from Stockholm to Linköping on the site https://kopbiljett.resrobot.se/en ?

Thanks Anton! This location is correct for the registration and it's also the location of the finish line of both race days! GS will start higher up whereas the Tight Special will start further down.

I personally don't know of this service, so I offer two alternatives:

http://www.Swebus.se is a low cost alternative for travelling by bus to and from Linköping.
http://www.sj.se is the public rail company.
