This race was insane. Has anybody run slalom in such wet conditions before?

Jackson Shapiera pipped Steve Daddow and Haggy Strom to win in the wet, and next week he's off to Europe for the World Cup downhill circuit.

Bridge day 2002...
Paul Price and I attended the "Bridge Day" race in West Virginia, USA run by Dave Gale in 2002. Like your race there was free-running water flowing down the road and people who fell were aquaplaning, it was crazy, Paul Dunne then cut divots out of his Avalons to try to get more grip!

OK. so we're not the only ones crazy enough to have done this.
There wasn't really much complaint about the conditions. Two people put down qualifying times and then declined to race in the head-to-head, but otherwise everybody was happy to race, although for many (including myself) it took a fair bit of watching others, and many cautious practice runs, before coming to grips (err) with how much grip there was.
