Super excited, just ordered my new Torsion Cores!!! An Unlimited to fill the hole in my quiver around 20-21" wheelbase and my own shape TS board... I will be ready for |Morro this time!
I am also bringing a secret weapon (currently weighing in at 3 lbs!)

Its raining at the moment, so the test ride won't be for a couple of days...ITS DRIVING ME NUTS! its so beautifully finished, it HAS to ride like a dream!

Almost...But the tail is much wider, think of it as the bastard offspring of a night of passion between a Eurofighter and a Crossfire!
Guess I could call it the Eurofire or Crossfighter...but not the Crossdresser

Here they are in a post-coital shot basking in the Antibes sun last September...

Martin,

In the pictures you posted, u have green goonies on your Roes. I'm curious as to what green guys u have on what deck (and why) and whether u use these in races. I'm setting up my 1st Roe and have lots of green guys sitting around looking 4 a home. cute kid!

Hi Brad,
I have been using mostly Grippins for TS and Slalom. Partly because I love the feel of the Abec urethane but also because I wanted narrower trucks, couldn't afford any, so went for centreset wheels. Now, i just love them! I haven't ridden Manx, but they obviously work and 3DM's do get put on my boards from time to time depending what I have lying around. Rumours of a new Avalon-replacement abound...I would definately try that!
The big board is shod with Gumballs which I find more nimble than Avilas.

Getting my Torsion core Unlimited dialled in now...I LOVE IT! The board is unbelievably light, super responsive due to the torsional stiffness and due to the higher camber...really lively!
I have a wedged Indy 101 (temporarily) on the front and a flat SplitFire 107 on the back, but I realised that I like a narrower rear than front and this will be rectified when my new Dragonslayers arrive. The rear truck makes the wheels grips like poo to a blanket and took no time at all to get used to. Personally I am much happier tightening or loosening a lock nut than playing around with different bushings everytime I want a slight adjustment or change which course I'm riding.
Sadly its created so much stir at our slalom sessions that everyone wants a go and I don't get to ride it as much as I'd like!
The board is a quiver-killer and is as happy in 6ft straight as it is in Hybrid courses. Now looking forward to my TC for TS...Mmmmm!

Well here it is, the Mark 3 version of my custom shape, shown next to the Mk2.

The original nose, a waisted body (I don't feel like I need width there) and a wide "fore-tail" before the cutaway.

Here it is before my DragonSlayers arrived...

The wide section is where my rear foot seems to want to hang out and the cutaway is more for weight saving/style than wheel rub.

Props to Billy Bordy who had an awful lot to do with me getting to this shape.

It is rediculously light and super snappy. I have used rubber shock pads to deal with the vibration issues inherent with all current design foam core boards.
Gareth and Steve did an incredible job with this board, it is the sexiest thing I have ever seen on wheels!!!

It has Dragonslayers on it, spaced out slightly for stability and Grippins.
Tomorrow it gets ridden and at Morro Bay it gets bloody!

Here is the Morro quiver....Mmmmmm!

(As you can see the real reason for the TS boards' shape is so that it fits right up against the Unlimited in my luggage when I travel

Thanks Justin...I rode some varied TS courses today and it rocked! It rides even better than it looks. After many years of riding, I have got to a board that felt as if it was part of me from the first moment I rode it...Every nasty feature I could put in a TS course, it just gobbled up.

It was incredibly responsive, felt super stable AND at the same time super nimble. I am so looking forward to riding a TS course that someone else has put up.

Gareth, I owe you a large beer! Jeez, I've been walking around with a grin since I finished my first run on it today!

I am so glad you like the deck! It sure looks functional. Wide only where it needs to be. I forgot to weigh it before it was shipped, but it was SUPER light. Its amazing what can be done with foam and carbon fiber.

Has to be one of the lightest boards to ever come out of the RoeRacing shop!

Wait until you see the other new boards we are bringing to Morro Bay. (oops - wasn't suppose to say anything about those!) See you in a couple of days!

Hi there,
It depends on the surface, but I have found with Grippins that you can go much harder and STILL have great grip.
When the surface is good 92/84, really good 92/88, average 88 or 84/81.

At present I will have to win the Lottery to meet up with you in Europe!

Hi Brad,
The boards are ...left to right:
1) My custom TS board 29.2", 18-19" wheelbase, 7.75" wide (Torsion Core).
2) Unlimited Torsion Core 30"
3) My custom GS board 34", 23-24" wheelbase, 8" wide (Performance Series).

...and I love them all!

Martin,

The dimensions sound perfect for TS and GS with the Unlimited for hybrid, but I would have thought you would want a wider board for GS. With such a narrow board, the wheels would extend out from the board, even with Grippins.

Hi Brad, I just guessed at the width, its actually closer to 9"...But whats an extra inch between friends

And having just got back from Morro with a good result, I guess that Mk.3 shape was the ticket..It felt SO good!

As for the new boards that Gareth hinted at...I rode a new Molded Foam SlingBlade in the Slalom event which was 32" with wheelbases at 21.5, 22 & 22.5".
