Shooting POV in Hood
I have a new board/helmet cam I'm bringing to the Hood which is awesome for POV shots and I'm looking for someone to shoot with me using that cam. I'm thinking a non-racer who can skate the hills of course -- especially that monster GS hill. Anyone out there available and interested? Please contact me via e-mail and we can talk about a plan. Thanks!!

Hood River West Coast Championships
Hey, That was really a BLAST! Thanks to Gareth, Steven King, and Brian Carlstrom for putting it on and making all the arrangements. Thanks to John Stryker for bringing and setting up the start ramps and everything else, Thanks to Gesmer for running the timing and to Pat Chewning for supplying the timing system. Thanks to all the other CSA'ers who helped setup and tear down -Dave and Matt Anderson, James Peters, Josh Burt, Scott Moore, Micheal Dong, Dave Mitchell, John Jr Stryker, Corey and Darrin Moy, plus the non-CSA'ers like Lynn and Eric, Paul D, and a bunch of others, and whoever else I'm blanking out on gosh-who am I forgetting?. Thanks BIZILLIONS to all the coneheads who are soooo under-rated and "good-one" on Gareth for giving them good decent schwag from all the sponsors who supplied all the good decent schwag.
It was good to see Dong bag a 1st in the T/S and especially on home turf. Carrasco, Mitchell, Barker, and Pirnack were all spooky fast, Dunn looked good, Hollien fared well for a one-armed bandit, the McLarens(all of them)-well you know, the Chapmans were looking good as ever. As far as the Locals Dave Anderson and Corey Moy looked better than ever, Scott Moore was probably most improved. Lynn Kramer and Judy Oyama were blazing even better. Bill Boothby was the quiet undercover gadget maker with his "new" secret. Jack Smith was the good omen with his presence. John Hutson made his cameo appearance helping with cone-marshalling. It was great meeting all the racers I haven't met before. It was good seeing Keinitz, Blankley, Micheals, and Kasha again. Hughes was good to see again but he bailed after Saterday was done probably to go ride some pool or park somewhere. Thanks to everyone for cheering me on and encouraging or harassing me to step up to the A division, especially John Ravitch. Ravitch made me work HARD! This was my "Rite of Passage" race so to speak. I didn't podium in the A's but it felt good getting in there. I did'nt know Saterday's G/S would have it's own CSA sub-series placings so I was surprized and stoked to get the 1st Medal in the CSA sub-group, congrats to Dave Anderson with 2nd and Dan Hughes with 3rd in that sub-category as well.
Lots of respect goes to Gareth who has lost practically all non-race practice time with non- racing issues/events , and lost time making arrangements to put on this race, losing practice run time at the race, and DQing a perfectly good run then keeping a good temper and running the race, starting way early and working way late both days. Good on You, Man! OK- so that's pretty much it, I need to go home and go eat. -Paul
