DC Spring/Summer series?
Anyone have any idea when the races will be for the Spring/Summer series? I'm itching to come in last place again.

Mike Ohm said the next Outlaw would be a week before the Luna Jam?
That would be the tenth of April I think? but don't hold me to that! I think that's Easter weekend? It's also the opening day of Spring Gobbler season. Decisions decisions. Race or hunt, maybe a little bit of both. Its going to be a long day!

Guys, these are my proposed dates.
May 15th
June 5th
June 26th
August 7th or
August 14th depending on what date Da Farm race is on
This is as far ahead as I can plan right now. Due to the Luna race and the Gathering the next DC outlaw race will not be until May. July is a busy month in the local skateboard area due to the Checkers bowl series which I am hopefully going to participate in. I will anounce more dates as soon as I can.
Right now it is practice, practice for Luna.

I'll try to make the trip up this sometime this summer, but I'm getting married June 5 and we're shooting the Curbslappies and the Exploding F#$k Dolls for Danny June 25. Hopefully I'll be up in August.
Do you guys know if there was any slalom at the X-games, Gravity games, etc.? I was talking with a teacher last night and he was talking about seeing something about slalom racing on TV (?). I showed him some shots of G4 and asked "you mean this stuff?" He said it was.

And about slalom on tv i saw the like 2002 or 2003 us gs finals or something like that on one of the fox sportsnet extreme hour shows and i know that on fuel channel on the show concrete wave they will sometimes show slalom cuz its a canadian show and the canadians are more open to all forms of skating. At least thats the way they seem....

gushy gushy insect love
don't forget the safety glasses and paper towels.
skated to work at UMD today and mmm... bug guts all over the road, sidewalk, my board.
apparently they are quite tasty.
probably not an issue at park and ride because there are few trees.
when finals end and all the students leave I am going to go scout the serious potential for skating at UMD, which, as far as I can tell, is a no-bust skate-friendly campus with a lot of hills and paved bit. ROCK!
GO cicadas!

It's 5 AM, the Gathering site is still empty. Where's everybody? The Gathering lives on man!
I see Dan's up; he's probably about to leave for the Gathering. Cool. I'll see you in a couple of hours, Dan. If no one esle shows up, let's have what we usually have. One Bourbon, one Scotch and one beer...
Well I ain't seen my baby since I don't know when...
And then Slappy will show up in the PMs. I know it. He always shows up in the PMs and brings something good and cold.

Brian,
It was a fun race today. Even if I question your bracketing format, it doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate you running the races. I didn’t think the format was even bad, it just seemed different to me than how it usually is. Thank you for all you do in helping us DC area racers get our action.

I suck
I suck.
DQ when I'm set for a cake walk to winning the "lowdium *" in the B bracket.
Christ all F'ing mighty I suck like a turbocharged Electro-lux.
Then I throw down a pissed off "I just don't care" joke run which would have put me in the middle of the A bracket.
Did I mention how utterly, comprehensively and completely I suck?
That said, a shitty day on the hill with you guys is still more fun that about anything I can think of, at least in retrospect.
* "Lowdium" podium for the slow guys.

-Brian, what's the rules?
-There're no rules.
I love Parsons. I love the new longboard liberal rules, plenty of push-in distance, and the pretty loose tude. Thank you for letting me run the blades, Mr. ParSONs. The races are getting to be more fun and less pressure.
Ohm has a very nice set-up. 85mm Geezerized Trackers and an Ick that actually works. A very nice pumper.
Anthony, drink milk, don't be shy
ANTHONY, Bozi got your video. I didn't get my T and tape, but that's allright, I'll pick it up when I'm back.
Bozi, thanks so much for your support. The guys (and girls) in Moscow love you as much as I do. Please make some boards soon so I can take them overseas.
It's 6 AM and this is my "good-bye DC" post. I'll miss you all.
PS. And then I see PA Dan online at 6 AM on Sunday...and the tears turn into a smile

Have an excellent time in Europe, Vlad.
You too, Dalv.
Try to keep him out of trouble, Mrs. Vlad.
You've definately made things alot more interesting, and MUCH more fun around here the last couple years. Seems like only yesterday a skinny Russian kid with tiny shorts and a Turner showed up at the hill, and wouldn't even do the course.
One of the great joys of being slow is that you get to be ecliped by so really exceptional people, if you stay mediocre long enough.
It's been a pleasure, and we'll all miss you, for the most part anyway.
See you on the hill, Popov...

Brian,
Yeap, I want to ride Walker on Friday. Weather forcast is calling for 40% chance of showers though.
Eddy,
Remember when you asked me about whether or not it was bad to bend your legs? I know I answered your question then, but look at the photos posted of the G4’s Saturday action anyway.
I hope you get over that pneumonia soon. I get bronchitus occasionally and that is bad enough for me.

I should have stayed home and rested this AM. but the slalom gods called. So off I went. I put a too soft bushings in the back truck, and I do believe 66 and Geezer-X hit the nail head I was leaning forward from the waist all of my weight was on the front truck=NO TRACTION. Will rest up and practice in a couple of days. Here is to resting and feeling better. Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Just wondering
This isn't DC, but, except for the "pockets of slalom" nearby, this is the closest "big slalom scene." ANYWAY, since Jenny and I have discovered the aforementioned park, I have been about half tinkering with the idea of trying to throw a a race later on this summer or early fall after the wedding/moving, etc. hectic-ness has faded. As kind of an informal "is it worth it?" thing, I wanted to ask. How many of y'all would be willing to invade small-town Ohio for a slalom race?

Lenny,
If you build it, they will come.....errrr....If you organize it, they/we will show.
The DC Crew can help you run it and bring some equipment such as timers, etc.
Also try to avoid some of the other races and skateboard contests and events that might conflict. See the below web pages for contests and their dates that the DC Skaters are either helping with or entering.

Cool!!!
Awesome!! Thanks bro!!! I'm thinking that "with a little help from my friends," (it's too early and I can't remember who sang that!!!) a race here is DEFINITELY do-able. I'll be emailing/posting as things develop.

Help
Marc Fuentes is putting together a race in South Charleston, WV for the weekend of August 28 and is in desparate need of guidance and timing equipment. To ease some of the stress and help the race go off, I'm pitching in, but I'm pretty clueless as to how to organize a race myself.
If anyone can help out with the above-mentioned stuff, please email him at realriders@aol.com
Off to the Athens skatepark!!!

The race for this Saturday is on!
"GS" practice at 10am, traditional racing starts at noon.
Currently (Thurs, 3:20pm), the weather experts predict partly coudy, 83°F climate for G-burg on Saturday. Looks good.
Afterwards, after Lupper (lunch/supper), there will be a session at Oakwood. This hill is on a completely different gravity-level from the P&R, so bring boards that you feel safest riding steep grades on.

DC Outlaw June 26th results?
Anyone have the race results from yesterday's DC Outlaw event? Couldn't be there myself but still want to hear how things went.
