Gathering IV, May 2004.
The Gathering (and PreGathering) rules for timed races were:
Friday night (the “Motel 6” Outlaw race). Single lane 50-cone hybrid/tight slalom on the P&R hill used for most of the DC SL Outlaw races.
0.1-second cone penalty. 8 cones = DQ. Jam format. Three timed runs to be declared apriori. The rest - practice.
Saturday afternoon. Dual Hybrid on a hill with a left-hand turn in the middle and a flat finish straightaway.
No cone penalty. 6 cones = DQ. 1 qualification run on a faster of the two courses. Top 16 qualifiers = Class A. The rest 16 = Class B.
Sunday afternoon.
Single-lane Hybrid on the “original Gathering” hill. No cone penalty. 6 cones = DQ. Best of 3 timed runs. (correction: best of all timed runs).
Longboard Slalom on the “other Gathering hill”. 1-second cone penalty. Hit the first cone on the course = DQ. 2 cones = DQ.
