Election for ISSA BOD 2017

Post by Jani Soderhall » Wed Jan 11, 2017 12:07 pm

At the end of each year approximately half of the board's position are up for grabs, and an election is organized at the end of the year. However 2016 ended quickly and we're now already into 2017. Thus rather than organize a full election, we're just looking to fill the two remaining spots on the BOD for 2017.

BOD, renewed end 2014, serves until end 2016:
Jani Soderhall
Patric Duletzki
Position open 1
Position open 2

BOD members renewed end 2015, serves until end 2017:
Hans "Corky" Koraeus
Rogerio "Sammy" Nogueira
Robert Thiele

In addition to help on the BOD we also need a calendar administrator and three EU status marshals. Ideally one of the three EU Status Marshals and one of the three North American status marshals will also serve on the BOD. Robert holds this position for EU, so there we're fine for now. It would be good to add a North American status marshal now to the BOD: Jonathan, Lynn or Russell?

What can YOU do for the ISSA?

You don't have to have a political program, a fantastic strategy all worked out in advance, or any other specific prerequisite to fill any of these positions, you just need you to have been part of the scene for a while and be able to speak out your thoughts, discuss and carry out decisions. We all know and hope that the BOD should do much more than they do, but we've come to accept that time is limited for us all, and that it's difficult to set aside enough time to accomplish all we would like to. So instead of doing it all, we're just doing what we can, given the circumstances. That's all that we ask from you too.

It's been our ambition to have clearer areas of focus within the BOD, so that BOD members can act on their own within their areas of responsibility. We're doing pretty good so far, but it's still an area for improvement.
