The U.S. Nationals is now the SEISMIC NATIONALS, and I want to thank Dan Gesmer for supporting slalom all these years. Here are some updates on Seismic US Nationals in Longmont, 8/17-8/20:

- Deadline for PayPal is Friday August 4th. No entry fees will be accepted on race day without prior arrangement. Go to the NCDSA Contest Calendar for the individual PayPal links.
- If you don't have your entry fee in by August 4th, you won't receive a schwag bag, welcome packet, or t-shirt.
- Park Slalom was sucessfully moved to Thursday 8/17, 7PM-11PM. The lights at this park are awesome.
- Only a handful of racers have paid for park slalom. If you want this event to happen, please send in your separate $25 entry fee. Prize purse will be from entry fees after event costs are subtracted. If there is not enough riders signed up by Friday August 4th, we will cancel this event.

- Lodging: YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR ROOM by 7/15 (THIS SATURDAY) to be assured the special rate below.
- We have arranged for special rates at The Longmont Radisson
- Double-Occupancy or Studio with pullout for $79 a night
- "Sleep Number" Beds
- Free shuttle within city limits
- $23 shuttle to/from DIA through Shamrock Airport Express
- Call 800-843-8240 and mention US Nationals Slalom Skateboarding
- Ask for sales manager, Debra Brandt, if you have any trouble getting the rate.
- After 7/15, they will no longer hold rooms for this event and won't guarantee the special rate.

- Coordination with the City Of Longmont is almost finalized. We are going before the City Council next Tuesday to ask them to make this a city sponsored event and provide all the traffic control expenses. This will ensure a substantial Pro purse.

- The City is excited about this event. We are selling them on making this an annual event and they are behind that effort.

- Our budget is looking good right now. There should be substantial Pro Prize purse with checks to the top 4 in each event.

- Thanks to all the vendors that have already stepped up and are sponsoring this event.

I think the courses will be epic. You don't want to miss:

1. Dual GS on a very fast hill. About 1300' with big gates. We will try to get every MPH out of this hill possible.
2. Dual Hybrid on a very crowned hill. Course will be mirrored after speed is built to allow full use of the crowned area. Both lanes will sweep down the crown towards the curb, then back up to the crown. You will be going into the sweeper heal-side in one lane and toe-side on the other lane. The finish will be large offset gates. Speed will be very fast. Surface is perfect 10.
3. Dual Tight on a less-crowned hill. Because we will not be able to shutdown this hill prior to racing, there will only be a single TS course for both Pro and Open. Expect 4+ cones-per-second, high-speed, and a need of TS skills. I may mirror a middle section on this course like on the Hybrid to allow for full use of the crowned area.

The COSS crew and the City of Longmont hopes to see you in August... Sign up and pay those entry fees by August 4th.

US National for "the italian"

Post by Stefano Bellingeri » Tue Jul 18, 2006 1:50 pm

Dear all,
as already written,
I will be there and I will pay cash directly on site as already decided with the organizers.
I do not have any request as I will be in a hotel in Denver. The only one could be a nice shadowed place to stay for my wife (who is pregnant) during the race: in fact she won't be able to walk around all the days long. A nice chair could be enough.
Anyway, with some of you we'll have the opportunity to meet in Brixlegg.
So, if you have any request or necessity for my participation at the US, please do not hesitate to let me know about.
CU in Brixlegg and than in Longmont

Stefano - As we discussed, you and any other Europeans can just pay on race day. The Friday GS will be in an area without shade. The Sat/Sun events will be on streets with lots of older shade trees and some nice grass. Hill runs North to South so shade will start on East side and then later on West side. I will have a chair for your wife to use. You have my cell so call if you need to.

See you in Longmont...

Thanks to everyone that attended. Now is the time to get some good feedback into the hands of our city officials.

I am sending out a note directly to the skaters asking them for some feedback and giving them links on how they can contact our city officials directly.

If anyone else who attended our event would like to provide some feedback, email me and I will send the info to you.

Great to see everyone charging,
hanging with all our friends at the after parties,
witnessing the city support all weekend (street sweeping truck out to squeegie/dry the course when rain tried to keep us down),
WAX's brew was off the charts (Thank you for the honor of a signature brew) & meeting WAX Sr. was truly a highlight,
McLaren Clan as usual making us feel at home,
Team Mitchell You Rock

and seeing the AXE Army out in force --Nice!!

Super stoked to see Richy continue the AXE Legacy by winning the Tight Championship on Sunday!
