Slalom on Sunday - Yes?

I'm in Brussels that weekend and will come over on Sunday for a Birthday Wiggle.
Paul Coupe is arriving in Amsterdam on Thursday and flies home on Monday. Would anyone be skating on Friday or could he hook up with some of you guys?

Mmmm Rabbit stew! Lekker!

The weather report is very good for the weekend. Nice and sunny on Saturday and sunny with a few clouds on Sunday, on both days the temperature will be around 24 C.

The English are crossing the channel and I do hope to see our German friends coming over as well.

I will probably not be arriving at the race site until around 11am or thereabouts? What time do you plan to start qualifying?
My train from Brussels arrives at Centraal at 10.09am so I will then get the tram to Sloten.

we will start around 9 AM, but Rob if I know how things go you wil be on time. we will still set up the courses, regitrations, etc ect and it is around 11. So no worries you will have you qualifing run. Just rush from the train platform to the tram number 2 stop! :-)

We are also glad to announce that SICKBOARDS has once more donated a bunch of really nice prizes for the marathon AND for the slalom races.
Free RedBull.
The Amsterdam Slalom Skateboarding School will hand out 64 mm 91 A Charger Wheels. Lots of wheel sets
Sound system is on.

So we have the usual set up. Ernest's starting ramps, also known as "The Slingshot", time system has been tested and it is working fine, pure juice asphalt and a nice hill.

Friday evening I will be going out with some riders that are arriving from France and the Dutch skaters llet me know if you feel like joining us. Remember there is no race Saturday morning.

Perfect skateboarding weather forecasted for the weekend.

We did our best for slalom skateboarding, come by and skate.

The Dutch Crew

What a great Sunday we had.

Here are the partial results and I will post the full results as soon as I get them from Ernst.

Hybrid
1) Markus Roch (D)
2) Ernst-jan de Boom (NL)
3) Donald Campbell (D)
4) Flavio Badenes (NL)
5) Martin Hoppe (D)

Tight
1) Ernst-jan de Boom (NL)
2) Markus Roch (D)
3) Martin Hoppe (D)
4) Donald Campbell (D)
5) Wouter van Hamburg (NL)

Overall
1) Markus Roch (D)
2) Ernst-jan de Boom (NL)
3) Donald Campbell (D)
4) Martin Hoppe (D)
5) Flavio Badenes (NL)

Girls:

GIRLS:
1) Femke Bosma
2) Sofie Jochems
3 Marte Bosma
all above NL

KIDS
1) VIncent (D) (sorry I don't have his last name)
2 Melle (NL)

It was really rewarding to see that the Amsterdam Slalom School has inspired others to start catering for their younger riders, and more yet to watch such a talented 10 year-old skater like Vincent (again my apologies for not knowing his last name) take the first place in the kids race. It was also sad to see Dutch champion Melle (I will leave his last name out as well :-) ) taking a bad spil and getting hurt at the beginning of the training session. Hopefully he was able to skate again later on.

We had some really intense racing moments, the girls (beginners) were really going for it, and the kids displayed a teaser of the future of slalom skateboarding.
I as usual had a great pleasure in organizing another event. My second one in this very turbulent 2011 :-) so THANK YOU to all the came over and to all that help us to pull this out.

These are the points that deserved my attention.

See you next year @ the Rabbit Meeting (to be continued.......)

Thanks to Flavio and the Dutch Crew for putting on the race on what was officially the hottest October weekend in Europe - ever!
I have just about re-hydrated now!

Any sign of the full results from Ernst yet?

Cheers
