Robo Gaisek just posted a very unnerving update on Facebook.
Seems Viktor Hadestrand was walking up the hill after a run and a girl on a bicycle came down the hill full speed and hit Viktor. He took a shot to the leg but appears to be OK.
Robert, however, is not describing a good scene with her. She did not have a helmet, hit hard and was on the ground twitching and turning while he held her head. His hand then filled up with her blood.
I don't want to sound hysterical but he says he's not sure if she will make it. Let's hope for the best. I asked Robo to keep us informed of her condition.
Y'all be careful out there.

To all of those who know my good friend, brother, Texas Outlaw Team Mate. Pete Cardenas. I just got off the phone with him from Austin, Tx. He had a heart attack this morning. He is fine and doing well. It was caused by a blood clot. Funny Pete was complaining to me about two weeks ago about having leg pain due to a car accident. Get well soon Pete aka PMC, aka Ricky Ricardo. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

An update from Robo.Wesley Tucker wrote:Well, the ambulance came and got her to the hospital. A cell phone call contacted her parents and they also got to the hospital. Viktor is posting on Facebook but it's in Swedish and I have no idea what he's saying
Let's hope for the best.
She's finally awake, responsive, everything moves as it should and she doesn't remember a thing about what happened.
Very good news.

Top 5 slalom venues
I'd like to get your opinion on the top 5 slalom venues each in Europe and N. America.
If we were going to pick 5 places to put on races in 2011 on each continent, where should they be?
Must be permit friendly venues (not outlaw sites)

Paris has it's permit already for 2011, if we want it to be in late May. The inline skaters have carried on the tradition and might even be hoping for us to return to make it an overall bigger event.Gary Fluitt wrote:I'd like to get your opinion on the top 5 slalom venues each in Europe and N. For now the Texas Outlaws have found a new home in Houston. We are very lucky the town of Hockley has offered us their new Derby Hill for our contest. They are even covering our insurance cost. No more waiting on city permits, city council meetings. Our contest runs the last weekend in March. Sometimes you get lucky. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Spiked X in the City
Shame not to see more of you at the British Open Championships.
Why not get your arse into gear, visit London in October and take in Spiked X in the City?
We will holding the X in the City European challenge Trophy Race, and training up the general public to slalom in the downtime. View and do!
Its a great opportunity to showcase slalom skating and it'd be really healthy to show that it is, in fact, a global sport. The skills of the internationals will wow the crowds. Could you be one?
Make this the trip to London that you keep promising to do. It'd be great to see a few of you from across the water!

And yes, the British Open Slalom Championships 2011 will be at Hog Hill on August the 6th & 7th. Please put it in you diary AND turn up. We have booked the site and would love to see the International support break the solitary figure barrier!

Ed and Dorothy met while on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her. When they discovered they lived in the same city only a few miles apart Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when they got home. Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Dorothy to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that Dorothy was indeed his soul mate and true love. Every date seemed better than thelast. On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship, Ed took Dorothy to a fine restaurant.
While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said, "I guess you can tell I'm very much in love with you. I'd like a little serious talk before our relationship continues to the next stage. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it's only fair to warn you, I'm a total slalom skateboarding nut. I race, I read about slalom on the Internet, I watch old slalom videos on YouTube. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe slalom skateboard racing. If that's going to be a problem for you you'd better say so now!"
Dorothy took a deep breath and responded, "Ed, that certainly won't be a problem. I love you as you are and I love slalom skateboard racing too; but, since we're being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for about the last five years I've been a hooker."
"I see," Ed replied thoughtfully. He looked down at the table, and was quiet for a moment, deep in serious thought then he added, "You know, it's probably because you're riding mongo and not putting enough weight on the back foot."

It was raining in London so I was looking at the internet.
Last time I saw this was in 1978
This was from 'The World About Us'
a prime time documentary series taking a different subject each episode.
There were only 3 TV channels then in the UK. It was a huge influence and all us UK skaters! some of us even made it to California.

And so I am almost healed from my shoulder injury/surgery. I am jonesing to run some cones. The trail park where Gumby and I practice at finally is visible. It was under water for two months. Flooded from the Hurricane. Been going to the skate park and doing some LDP lately. Good to be back. Again. Will hit Dixie or Jacks contest. Sam I will hit the British Open Championships next year. No wonder my shoulder hurt -- look what they took out!
Really, it feels MUCH better now. I couldn't move my arm completely with that hardware in, and it hurt every day. They removed the hardware 2 weeks ago and it feels great!

It's 7:45 a.m. in Ashland, Kentucky. Getting ready for a good day of racing at the Cone Fest. Weather looks great all weekend. Big turnout expected, both in spectators and racers. Rumor has it a legendary World Champion might make an appearance.
Antrim's likely getting ready for a great day, too. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, as some of you may know I don't spend the whole year going to slalom races
(this year I was at Texas, St Louis, France, Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic, Holland and the UK).
I also spend about 5 months snowboarding in Park City and the surrounding mountains.
Am I lucky or what!
I hope some of you will get a chance to come to Utah and be my guest - my new chalet and guiding operation can be found on:

Well the weather couldn't stop it but due to circumstances beyond our control the X in the City event has now been postponed until April 2011 and therefore so has our race.
It appears that the show was getting bigger and bigger to the point where the infrastructure was too small to deliver this world class event.
Obviously I am very disappointed especially after all of the enthusiasm and encouragement received from so many great racers around the world.
We will endeavour to make this event bigger and better when it takes place next year.
Thank you to all of you who have shown your support in this event
This postponement will of course give some of our cousins across the pond plenty of time to start planning ahead :o)
We are considering our options regarding staging an outlaw race in London on the weekend 23rd & 24th October instead.

Medical Insurance company seeks info to sue for race injury
Two years ago in July, I broke my shoulder at Hood River while racing.
I had surgery and a plate put in.
This year, I had the plate removed (in August).
Just last week, I received a questionaire from the insurance "Abrogation Services".
Basically, the questionaire was asking things like:
"Was this the result of an accident/injury?"
"Who's property did this occur on?"
"Was this accident the fault of someone else?"
They are fishing to try to be able to sue someone for medical costs.
I gave the minimal amount of information, and said this was all my fault.
If they do sue the organizers of the race, I guess I'll be suing myself.
