Changed axle?
I recently purchased a new Airflow and, compared to one I bought a few months ago, there are some differences. The newer one's axle is not stainless steel and it mics out at 7.87mm (same as any axle in Indys, Trackers, etc.) Is this a mistake or have the material specs changed?

Hello Thomas
You are absolutly right.
We had some problems to find the same steel we used normaly for the axels.
Now we have the old approved material back on stock.
If there is any problem with the black axel, feel free to contact me any time, and i will send you some new axel with some extra nuts.
Tanks for your understanding.

If the Airflows are like Splitfires, it's like this:thomas edenton wrote:Chris,
Thanks for helping me out. Very cool. I have to ask you for one more thing. Will you please give me instructions on the best way to remove the old axles and reinstall the replacements? Any help with that would be much appreciated!
put a hex hut on the axle
put on a lock washer
put on a nylon lock nut down to the nylon insert
Wrench the first non-nylon hex nut up to the nylon lock nut. Keep wrenching and twisting. The axle should break free and screw out.
Oh, and IF Airflows have the same threading as Splitfires and Radikals, then see my post from the SplitFire forum about axle options:

OK,Thanks Weshley.
you could do it exactly like Weshly sad, with two nuts.(it has not to be a non-nylon hex! You also could use the one from the other side)
You also could do it with a strong grippper.
(note; to take the axel out, turn anti-clockwise!!!!!)
Airflow is using metric threadings, do not use a splitfire or radical axel!!
to reinstall the new axel, just use some locktide!!
Thats it!
ready to ride, and feel the flow......
