[2007] Slalomskateboarder.com registers 1000 slalomers
Over the top with 1000 registered users!
The front page reflects a little chest thumping as Slalomskateboarder.com today achieved 1000 registers users. Although not nearly as many users as some other mainstream skateboarding and longboard sites, it does show at least 1000 people worldwide are interested and attracted to racing a skateboard though cones.
Thing have really moved along nicely since Dave Hamm had a Hamm Slam what seems like another century ago . . .

Nice Update
Wes,
Thanks for your most recent updates to the home page. The potential for us to expand out of our niche and attract new participants and educate spectators and potential sponsors grows as our visibilty increases. A web presence with regular updates and resources for the curious adds to our credibility.
And lest we forget, kudos to all those worldwide who are organizing and hosting races, both big and small. The excitement, competitive spirit, athletic talent and genuine camraderie displayed by the participants is one of the best advertisements we can create.
Thanks to all who are working to build slalom skateboarding.
Marty

That's awesome news!! And I feel certain it will continue to grow!! Every time I set up a course to practice in the public park here, I get a small audience of spectators. Granted, it may be because they've never seen a dude my size move that quickly unless it was on the way to a buffet line. Nonetheless, people get interested.
