Durometers are being finalized, but 76a/80a/84a are the most likely. 75mm tall by 65mm wide; weight is 250grams per wheel (approx 9oz). Initial production by early March.

These new Avila's are 9oz? Just a tad over 1/2lb each? That is a big wheel!
Is http://www.3dm-sport.com planning on offering a "trimmed" version of this wheel?
Has anybody done any experimentation with trimming this wheel yet? If so, any input you could offer up here?
Watching Paul Dunn at JPL he looked so fast and almost on the edge of being out of control using these wheels.
<img src=http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/jpl/028.jpg>
Was that his first time ever using these wheels for him? Or had he been able to test them out before this race?
And how many people do you think might be using this wheel for the Pasos Robles race in April?

I think we'll leave the Avilas untrimmed for now, since it's not difficult for the racers to modify the wheels themselves.
Paul, Chicken, and Sherman had the wheels at JPL, though Chicken opted to run Avalons once racing started because I didn't have 4 80a Avilas for him to use. Sherman ran 84/80 Avilas (off my board), and Ben Schroeder later ran that combo with Sherm's board and knocked 5 or 6 seconds off his earlier runs. Paul had a hodgepodge of 76's, 80's and 84's, and he blew off the course with too much speed on his later runs, though he held the fastest time of the day until Richy's last run.
The Avilas definitely have some mass at 250gm. In comparison, the Cambrias weigh 100gm and the Avalons weigh 150gm.
