Who needs body armor?

Post by Barry Gourley » Tue Jan 13, 2004 11:48 pm

I'm looking for a group of people that need (Elbow, knee, wrist pads) I just spoke to Wild Bill about a discount on his pads.
He told me IF I can get a some people together and buy a decent amount of pads we could could be looking at a better price.
I don't know how many orders we need or how big of a discount will be, but figure I would ask around.
Thanks,
Barry

I need some “open back” knee pads that are suitable for vert riding. You can add me to your list for those.

Barry,
I am in the market for new pads. (Elbow, knee, and wrist guards). I've been meaning to contact Bill, but I guess I'm a SLACKER. Anyway, like Wes, I'd prefer "open backs" on my knee pads, however they do not need to be super thick. Wes must fall....I mean skate...more than me ;).
I'll be watching this forum for news, or you can e-mail me at dan_tammy_m@hotmail.com
Thanks

The sexy, slim knee pads led me astray once and I ended up paying for it with a broken ankle. For vert riding, I only have eyes for big, chunky pads.

Pro Designs are great pads. I have the wrist guards (just getting over a broken wrist from NOT wearing wrist guards) knee and elbow pads.

I called Wild bill up and talked pads with him and he help me make a choice. When I broke my wrist, I was wearing the pads and not a single scratch or bruise. I think if I was wearing the wrist guards, I would have walked away with just a little scrape on my shoulder...

Good choice, hope you guys get enough people together to get a better deal.

If it’s still gaining interest, let’s keep it open through the weekend.

I have a few personal preferences that I didn't state in my original pad choice. Please let me know when I should send Bill my specifics.

It doesn’t look like anyone else is interested, but maybe that is because people don’t know about this group deal. Maybe you could change the subject title to something like “Get in on our group discount for ProDesigned pads!” or "Need PD pads? Get in on this group discount!” (message me if you need help making the statements bold). I could also email people about this deal too.

Or, you could just go ahead and get the price quote from Bill.

I may be going in for a pair of vert-style elbow pads too, but I'm not sure yet.

What should we do next? I can post the directions on the other website that I have at least one more person interested. Maybe others there will just go ahead and join this then too.

I am definitely in for:
One pair of heavy-duty knee pads, with open back and made with specific fabrics (1000-denier cordura in color-beige for the outer covering, and a fast-drying fabric for the lining. Measurements still need to be taken for the pads, but my general-size is medium.

I am waiting on an email reply from Bill regarding the design feasibility of a pair of elbow pads. I will give him a phone call if I don't hear from him soon. Then I will post if I want a pair of elbow pads for myself.

Barry,
I just found another person wanting to get a pair of elbow pads and wrist guards. Who knows, maybe we would have a few more if we keep it going through tomorrow (but still have it be a LAST CALL type of thing).

Do you think you could register at SilverfishLongboarding.com and then answer any questions that come up in this topic that I started there? Not to take over all the work, or anything, but just to answer any question that I can’t.

Here's what I want:
Rec/Slalom kneepads, open back
Rec/Slalom elbow pads
Wrist guards

I don't need custom sizing, but I'd like to give Bill the measurements and let him choose the size, since my current pads are department store fare and who knows how the sizes correspond.

For wrist guards, I take a med. Pro-Tec so whatever is comparable is fine.

Thanks for your effort, Barry!

Sizing for PD pads are given in a link for it here: http://www.prodesigned.com/M3.htm

I just got another bite for elbow pads.
That makes:
Three (3) pairs of elbow pads and one (1) pair of wrist guards for people at the other site.

We have confirmation for:
Knee pads - Barry, Padan, WesE, and Matt Rabbit = 4 pairs of knee pads.
Elbow pads - Padan, WesE, and Philo = 3 pairs of elbow pads.
Wrist guards - Barry, Padan, and Philo = 3 pairs of wrist guards.

What about Seth, Jack Q, Rick 66, and Momona Boe?

Comonn, dudes. The more the merrier (and I do think it could be quite merry).

Make that another pair of elbow pads and knee pads for me as well. Bill just replied to my email and he says the discount is true. YES. I could not get that horrible stench out of my old elbow pads. By the way thanks Wes E I remember a while back you posted that you could find some decent skate shoes at Target. Found a pair for 20$.

Jack,
That’s great! The more the merrier.

If you know of people outside of SS.com that want to get in on this deal, but don’t want to register with their full name here, I am taking declarations in a topic over at SilverfishLongboarding.com (Click here for it). When we decide to finallize the group discount, I will send everyone a private message containing the discount code. They then mention the code to Bill Walker of Pro Designed when they place their pad order and the discount will be given to them.

Barry,
It’s all taken care of. Thanks anyway. If you are still logged onto Silverfish, you should delete the new topic that you started there by clicking the button with the “X” on it that is next to the “Edit” button.

Gary,
Cool! You are added to the list.

We have confirmation for:
Knee pads - RicL, GaryS, Eddy, Barry, Padan, WesE, Rick66 (2-pair), Jack Q, and Matt Rabbit = 10 pairs of knee pads.
Elbow pads - Matt Rabbit, RicL, Momona Boe, Eddy, Padan, WesE, and Philo = 7 pairs of elbow pads.
Wrist guards - RicL, Barry, Padan, and Philo = 4 pairs of wrist guards.

I am going to keep this open through tomorrow (Tuesday). If there are no new declarations of pads/gear by the end of that day, I will consider it time to put the deal into action. At that point, I will private message everyone with something unique to be identifiable by Bill Walker as recipients of the group discount.

Barry, I hope that is cool with you.

Howdy Yawl,

The first thing I want to say is thanks to Barry and Wes and to all the broth-ah's that are speading the word, and thanks to all whom have already purchased pads. Just to give yawl a heads up all orders taken the day ordered will either be shipped that day or the next day by UPS. Pay Pal is acceptable and if you have any special needs you can email me directly at: prodesignedinc@msn.com, call:713-957-0341, or give me your telephone number and I will be more than happy to give yawl a call. Life is good !
