Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 5-6 May 2012
I am working on it. But I need your input please.
Like last year, I wanted to have the race together with the 4 day bicycle event, that would not only bring more public but would also make it easier for us skaters to have the course for ourselves for the whole weekend, otherwise I will have to have a brake Saturday afternoon. I want to have the race in the week-end only, a two-day event, like the competitors asked me to do last year.
The question here is, If I change the dates will more competitors be present? Are there competitors out there that will be going to Milan that eventually would come to Amsterdam if I change the dates? Your feed back is appreciated!!
Thank you!!!

Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 5-6 May 2012
From our perspective having spoken to a number of UK riders recently more of our racers would want to come Amsterdam than travel that bit further to Milan.
Those on a limited travelling budget can get the ferry to Holland from Harwick to the Hoek.

Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 5-6 May 2012
Thank you Rob.
The way I see it is that most of the riders that come to Amsterdam are normally from North Europe, with the exception of our Spanish friends and Silvio Endrizzi. The contest in Milan, it is a great one of course, but definitely too far away especially in this crisis moment.
There is another point of concern in postponing the contest for later. The months of May, June and July are wet ones, it rains frequently and September it is too close to the Rabbit Date on the first week of October.
I still ask for the opinion of the other riders, thank you!
I will wait until February 10 before choosing a definitive date.

Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 5-6 May 2012
Flavio, if you move your race you then risk holding it the same weekend as one of our Hog Hill events - 19th/20th May.
Sometimes dates clash and there is nothing that can be done about it. This year in the UK for example three events that we normally hold races at are on the same weekend!

Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 12-13 May 2012 [Main]
I am very pleased to announce that Olesya Naumchik from Russia will be competing in our event this year. She asked for and she will compete in the OPEN class.
This edition of the Amsterdam Series is looking really good indeed. Competitors from The Czech Republic, England, Germany, Italy, France, Brasil, Sweden, Russian and very possibly Latvia :-) it is really cool to be able to welcome you all.
The Dutch Crew is working very hard to make sure we can race to the limit.

Hi Flavio, because of various family commitments I've registered and booked on a redeye flight to arrive Saturday morning; which should get to the race site around 10:00am. If I don't make it then please get one of the UK bunch to qualify for me. Paul Price is usually very helpful in this matter, but Louis, Bruno and Rob are always obliging too! No accommodation sorted as yet, but I might just do the tent thang.
All the best,
Sam

Re: Amsterdam Slalom Series 12-13 May 2012 [Main]
The week end is approaching fast. May 12 and 13 the Amsterdam Slalom Series 2012. I would like to mention our sponsors that help make this contest possible:
SICKBOARDS
PAVEL SKATES
STUFF FROM HELL
ETNIES
SEISMIC
CONCRETEWAVE MAG
The AMSTERDAM SLALOM SKATEBOARDING SCHOOL
MONSTER ENERGY DRINK
The following countries will be present:
LATVIA
SWEDEN
UK
GERMANY
FRANCE
CZECH REPUBLIC
ITALY
SPAIN
HOLLAND
RUSSIA and
BRASIL
we are looking at the biggest and most competitive ASS ever.
The Courses: Courses will be made "fresh" on the day of the event by three skaters from different countries. Every country will have the chance to help with setting up the course. Fair play.
On Saturday we start at 8 AM with registrations. Since a few skaters will stay in my house and they will arrive early at the site with me they will start setting up the courses. Please I need to start at 9:30 with the HYBRID. We will skate until 12:30, then clear the course for the bicycles and start again at 5 PM. There is light until 8:45, I checked it yesterday. So we will finish the Hybrid on Saturday. I know that some of you will be coming in later saturday morning, no problem you will make a separated group and race a little later in the morning. I do ask the people that will be in Amsterdam Friday evening to be on time Saturday morning. P l e a s e!!! :-)
On Sunday we will start at 9 AM, then we will skate the whole day until 5 PM. I do hope to be finished by 5.
On Sunday we will also have a SHORT beginners race, only two runs per rider.
Kids and Juniors will race in slightly modified OPEN CLASS courses, be prepared kids, this is going to be though! :-)
The goal is a feel-good-high-performance-contest.

Hey hey hey what a super weekend! The best racers in the world. The new generation is Slalom skateboarding, including that 49 year-old teenager called Fabian

Viking, Viktor, Jānis Kuzmins, Gustavs Gailitis, the new comer Russian lady Alessya Naumchik, old friends like Markus Roch, Donald Campbell, Sam Gordon, Rob Ashby, Louis Selby, Bruno Silva De Oliveira. Too many great riders to name. It was great to see you all here again

Bart is busy now with the final results, please bear a little long with us. We were all super tired yesterday after the contest.
THE HELL edition ASS666 was a total success. One that we as The Dutch Crew proudly pulled out.

Bart, Flavio and the rest of the crew,
Congrats on a good race. Thanks for getting the results out quickly too.
Oboy, with these results, it's going to be really a really interesting fight in Paris. Not all of the top guys will make it there though, the Duponts are not coming, and the Hadestrand boys are not coming either. There are free slots up in the top up for grabs!
