hey! Yes there is. You can take the S-bahn 18 from hürth to cologne central station, and than the DB to the airport. from hürth to HBF will take you about 20 minutes, and to the airport from there about 10 to 15 minutes...

TEAM A confirmed the race. our highspeed highway rocker number one is complete and on the A 2 on friday direction cologne/d`dorf

in the hopefully unlikely case of rain we rented an indoor facility with concrete surface for the race.
this facility is located in cologne hürth
detailed information will follow shortly.
this is a "just in case" backup for the race and eventual rain!!!!!!!

parking cars happens along the streets to the race
weekends it is safe to park there too so no hassle by cops etc.

GOING TO COLOGNE ON SUNDAY
coming from düsseldorf:
take the a57 from krefeld to köln
köln/nord exit to the a1 heading koblenz
exit hürth,right turn at the traffic lights
after approx 1km you will see an industry complex to the left,enter the street heading into that complex,driving through that complex for approx 2kms you will notice the street going uphill a bit,you will also pass and old transport band built right a bove the street,after that band it's only 200m and the street opens up a bitheading into a right hand curve.at that curve make a left and you are there.

taxi or you take a tram/bus to the hauptbahnhof in düsseldorf
from there you go underground take the u76 towards krefeld and leave the tram at belsenplatz.

when you take the u76 to belsenplatz here's a quick info where to get out
first part of the ride is underground,then you pass the rhine.right after the bridge 3rd stop is belsenplatz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
once you are in the hotel and you want to drink someting or eat a bit outside enter any tram going back to the direction you came from,across the bridge again,first stop right after brige the altstadt is on the right hand side.
all you want is there booze,food,women
the area where your hotel is located is called "oberkassel".
if you don't want to go to the altstadt ask for "barbarossaplatz" 5 min footwalk from where you are.just walk up the street your tram took and when you see an open area that bis the barbarossaplatz,right hand side is where the pubs are, very nice and cozy good beer rich people
oberkassel is very "high nosed" to say so.

we had a very nice event even though the gs got rained out

i want to thank especially the <g.<o.<g. crew for all the hard work and love they put into this contest,without naming the persons involved i think everybody knows that i am fully aware of the huge amount of time and labour this good and able crew invested into this race.
thnaks to carhartt and vans for sponsoring the event
thanks to all the nice folks i was able to meet,talk to,hang out with during those short and very exhausting 2 days,
antonio and pelle the british fun crew,the parisisans,the latvian ambassadors,flavour flavio and the superb dutch gang,all the germans that came,the bewbies who put on a good show too.
did i forget to mention anybody?
i hope not

thank you again-all of you-for your support
the beast ramp is sleeping and waiting for good weather.

first of all, a huge thanks to everybody!

it was a fun event

it was great to see everybody again and meet some new faces...

however, not willing to criticise in any way the work that was done by the people organising the race, some things were not right...

here are a few things that come to mind

- no ranking for the girls, who, at the end of the day, were completely left out...
- only one race went all the way to the finals
- no prize money (?)
- sizes of the t shirts for the race
- no matter how many of them you have, a shitload of key chains and stickers is not cool schwag...

other than that there were some very positive things as well, the organisation of the race went very smoothly, the evening at the pool with bbq was awesome, and the indoor factory turned out to be very handy...

20 Euros to race.... that's nothing!
That barely covers the t-shirt and the printing of the t-shirt.

I'm sure the profits for the GOG's were ZERO.
If you had fun, that's all that counts.

a detailed explanation regarding your criticism follows here:

we only had 3 girls i spoke to kathrin and ella about it,they love to communicate with me-they were fine racing the mens am division.i remember giving the exact placings of the girls to an interested frenchman promptly at the race during the competition

- only one race went all the way to the finals
the hybrid went to the finals
the straight was a 2 run best time event and the results are ok,that has been communicated about with the involved racers too-we had no complaints at the race and i was open to suggestions also.i know there was one guy who was only doing nose manuals across the race track the whole day,he even got shit from dom for doing that constantly,who was that guy disturbing the race hmmmm what was his name hmm?

- no prize money (?)
entry fee was 20 euros am and 30 euros pros
some people did not have to pay due to the labour involved especially in the preparation time before the race.and yes,there was labour involved.
i remember especially steve hinzen spending roughly 20 hours of work for the rsmps to be built,accompanied by dom,homer,frank
unpaid work by the way
i ended up paying 430 euros all in all for material,timing equipment,spare parts
100 euros went to the guy that gave us the place for sunday
the soft drinks and alco pops were free sponsoring again 10 boxes with 18 bottles per unti got wasted
bbq was 200 euros
i took 50 euros for gas
oh yes i kept the rest of the money
i also didn't get paid for printing the shirts we gave away for free during the race.

- sizes of the t shirts for the race

i remember sandrine complaining that her samll sized shirt was too big for her,she said that this must be a medium?
well i didn't print any girlies yep anyway it was for free and i didn't have to do that anyway
besides that this was the only complaint i heard about the FREE t-shirts

- no matter how many of them you have, a shitload of key chains and stickers is not cool schwag...

i gave away prizes for roughly 3000 euros retail value
the top 5 of each divison got prizes such as hoodies,pants,shoes,jackets
i am terribly sorry that this didn't seem to be enough of value for some
with the remainder of the stuff(there were also a lot of keychains,t-shirts and even some more expensive stuff) i decided to thow it into the crowd.
nothing stayed on the table it was empty
even the "cheap" keychains made it into some pockets and bags.

bottom line is:
next race higher starting fees if a realistic amount of prize money is desired
i want to mention that DOM being the overall winner with 3 first places understood the situation and was totally cool with it!!!!!!!!!!! nobody else complained either.
i am not willing to pay out of my own wallet for this.
nobody paid me or any of the gog crew for all the labour involved.

we leave this race with a good feeling and i also want to tell you patrick that i am not bummed by your critcism.
i gave you a look at the the other side,make whatever you want out of it.

A HUGE THANK to Donald and OG G.O.G Crew to have welcome us one more time ( 5 or 6 times ?! ).
This time we were almost 10 frenchies to have made the trip, sometimes 10 hours driving for some of us...
As usual we had a LOT of fun, hanging up with friends from Germany, Latvia, England, Sweden, the Netherlands, and racing.

Saturday races were awesome ( except a big crash on my ass, thanks god after the finish line... ) perfect weather, nice location !

I wish we could run the GS on the mega ramp sunday, but you can't control weather... anyway, I'll come back just for the ramp !

I can understand that Sandrine was a little bit disapointed, she trainned hard, she's very competitive but I also explained her that she ( and the other girls ) was better than a lot of guys and it's a good way to compare, 3 girls is maybe not enough for a specific category ?!

For most of us we had a very POSITIVE feeling when we left Germany and it's the most important.

See you soon in Paris and/or Hannover for the others !!!

Don you know you have a place to stay in Paris.

One last thing : The P-Camber, the Wadsten and Dom's models are AMAZING...
GS intelliflex too... Don, we need to talk !

Once again , thank you Donald and all the crew for this 2 days racing and having fun.
It so nice to start 2008 season, seing all of you and meeting new people smiling and sharing skateboard love.

Saturday was a sunny day with a nice spot and fast races. It was also perfect that we can skate on sunday despite of the rain.

I can understand both looks from Pat -I also think girls, and maybe junior, should be awarded everytime- and Don - the list of positive points is way longer-... maybe a consolidated view will give us all the better (GOG) race ever.

I will for sure be there for the next one, trying to roll down this scarrying beast

Sorry we missed THE MONSTER ramp, but maybe that was just as well, at least we got back home in one peace.

Don, thanks a LOT.

I had a great time and I am sure I am also speaking for all the Dutch crew.

The contest was very well organized. Flawless. It went on even through the Sunday rain.
Congratulations on that.

I would also want to add that Dominik not only ruled on the slalom but together with this young kid, whose name I don't know, dominated the pool session. And as if that was not enough he also displayed a variety of flips and ollies on the flat terrain of the warehouse we were where on Sunday. All around skateboarder. I hadn't seen one in a long time. Very good DoM.

I do hope to see you guys soon again and I am looking foward to rolling down on the monster's neck!!!!!

it was a bummer we couldn't use the three meter ramp, but i'm excited about next years contest.. or will the ramp be four meters high by then?

Thank you Donald and Crew for an excellent weekend. My first competition in Europe for about 20 years proved a very useful experience not to mention educational experience. I am very envious of the facilities at your disposal! It was great seeing the factory and the construction process first hand. The pool is awesome as was the skating taking place.
It was a shame the GS was rained off, I was looking forward to the ramp - honest!
Your contingency plans for bad weather paid off and ensured that show went on and that we could all race another day while at the same time confusing a lot of very monged/wasted “creatures of the night”!

Thank you also to Heiko for the trip to your shop, I could have stayed there all day, so much to look at and drool over – a first class establishment!

Dom/Donald – sorry for treading on the tape switch virtually each time I ran up the ramp on Saturday!

Pelle, Antonio, great to see you guys again and in warmer conditions than Cadwell!
I hope you are no longer living at Dusseldorf Airport Pelle – but then that’s what happens when you give Sam the finger!
