Adam this is a picture of Henry Julier. When he was 18 he vowed to beat me. He didn't so I made him wear a dress. Unlike Henry, I think you would look real cute in a dress and a little bit of make up. Kinda like Jane Weidlen from the GoGo's circa 1981. That makes me uncomfortable though so perhaps we should race for something else?
Shaved Head?
Wearing a tshirt designed by the winner?
A scar?
Let me know your thoughts?

My Personal Goals for 2006:
1. Train and learn as much as I can about slalom and improve to the point where I can be competitive in the Open Class at every race I attend.
2. Develop the Dixie Cup (through the work of the DHB) into the most exciting, fun, racing event in the country for every racer that attends. This includes getting a larger sponsorship group, improved racer hospitality provisions, and improved, professionally run course management.
3. Beat Joe I. in hybrid/dual lane.
4. Help grow the Downhillbillies into a major force within skateboarding that continues to focus on inclusion and fueling the stoke of all riders attending our various events/jams and/or belong to the organization.
5. Turn as many younger skaters onto longboarding and/or slalom through jams and workshops in the community.
6. Work with the DHB in putting a proposal for a publicly funded skatepark for Statesville, North Carolina together and gaining the approval of Statesville City Council for such a project.
Got alot of work to do...the DHB in 2006 is going to totally spread the STOKE like never before!

Just threw that one in Joe since it seemed so popular. Dude, I ain't wearing no dress so that bet is not going to happen! You got me at the Farm in Dual...you qualified and did better than me in the dual at Dixie Cup. I got to figure out how to go through those small cone gaps faster!!!!

NO NO NO! The Dixie Cup is a Karaoke Free Zone! Joe I did do a decent job on "Tom Dooley" with the Hillbilly Liberation Front....but I suspect he rode the short bus as well.

Goals for 2006
Rob
- Grow grass roots slalom to the level that Joe/Tway/TK and Marion/DBH have done in their respectivie locations - I want a summer series
To host a race north of the border of the calibre of the ones I have attended over the past three years - to thank everyone who has shown me and the other Canadian's incredible hospitality and introduce everyone to Canada
To fix all the structural problems with my body (replacement back), train hard and have a solid competitive season
Have FUN all along the way!!!!!!
Rob

#1. Don't screw up my back anymore so that I have to sit on the sidelines of a race like the Dixie Cup and watch. Includes cycling more and working out with weights.
#2. Practice enough that I get comfortable with my setups and trust them. Quit buying so much stuff and just practice.
#3. Beat JBird at the next race.

My goal is to actually make it through a course without breaking anything.
And that too!My goal is to find someone in my town who will run cones with me. Then maybe they'll tell a freind and so on.

Luv the David Byrne thing.
Until about a year ago I hadn't slalomed since around 1980 so I aint into all that "pumpin'" yet. My idea of slalom right now is to set cones about 10' apart and just get used to it again.
I suppose when you say break anything, you mean on you? As for me, I don't own any pads. And really don't intend on running that hard anyway. I retired undefeated in my little town and have no intentions of un-retiring. I just like pulling out the old Bahne alluminum deck sometimes and surfing around soccer cones I scored at a local store. But hope to have someone else enquire about the deal so another gremmie will be skateboarding something besides rails. Kids are looking for something new around my town and I get a lot of onlookers when the longboard gets used. Especially from folks aprox. my age (41). I hope to eventually get some kid who wants to skateboard, but don't like hurling him/herself down stairs etc stoked on slalom. It'll happen sooner or later. The other day some kids like 6 to 8 years old were all into riding on butts down a hill. And one of their dads was seen a couple of days later on one of those popsicle stix. He's wearing a cast now. HMMM.
I have a new Bahne Black Hill board w/ Seismic Hot spots and Gull Wing trux to break in and if a kid wants to try, I'll share the old board. It has ACS 651's w/ new Bones medium bushings and some retro looking wheels made by Daddies Board shop (that replaced the YoYo park rider 5's). A fun skateboard to sidewalk surf nowadays. I also have a 32" Comet board w/ slight kicktail that kills the hills. The Randal trux on it will soon be replaced with narrowed torsion trux and some smoother wheels. But for now it's fun to surf it 100 miles away from the ocean.
Goal for '06 is to have fun and hopefully share the stoke.
