Hmmm well you'll see a lot more of me on the forums.. Typically when I am stuck inside due to bad weather... I post a lot.. But moving to Aspen (last 3 years) .... we have 300 sunny days a year.
But I moved to Los Angeles - 167 sunny days....
And now I injured myself.... torn calf and soleous both grade 3 tears and twin sprained ankles...
So I guess I'll be posting a bunch..but not competing until I heal..
Keyboard racing does serve a purpose....it helps you maintain sanity.

It would be nice to have Master-ranking on the front too...like Pro and AM.
And maybe the other ones?

Yes, maybe we could have a short one.
But, you know there's always been a "problem" with the Masters ranking in that it doesn't include everyone. It only includes Masters of the Am category, or those that really raced in a Masters category during a race. That made it slightly scewed, so I may have treated it a little bit less official.
Corky and I should sit down during the winter and see how we can either merge or just create a common design for the two sites, or rather three: SlalomSkateboarder front page, Forum and SlalomRanking.com.

Perhaps there should be a masters Pro class too, I don't know if there is enough to make that happen tough any thoughts other than mine that is :)
As Luck would have it . . .

Re: Wanted: Masters 45 and over birthdates
I think when this was planned in early 2000 the idea was that if you race pro you are a pro. Nothing else. And if you are older than 45 then maybe you just want to skip pro and race with all masters all together.Marcos Soulsby-Monroy wrote:Perhaps there should be a masters Pro class too, I don't know if there is enough to make that happen tough any thoughts other than mine that is :)
But these old Pro racers just don't want to stop and just keep skating so good and fast that it does not fit with the initial idea anymore. ;-)
Yes we could start to treat masters as a PRO and AM class also. It all depends how many skaters there are though. I think it would have been nice though to have master classes run on their own when possible but it's not always possible maybe.
Or... if PRO and AM are only racing in separate classes just decide that PRO Master racers come before AM Master racers in the general master class result. Then the issue is solved and we would have all masters in one class.
Maybe something to propose for the BOD...

Re: Wanted: Masters 45 and over birthdates
Please no more classes, we have already now too many over laping ones.
I would rather see one Men division which would cover curent AM and Pro, and another Masters one where are those old enough and who dont want to be race in Men.
Plus additionally naturally youth divisions.
Another totally confusing topic is current ranking and side that also that 4 year ranking. Could we have just one ranking like in sports?

There is only one already for 5 different classes. Pro, Am, Wom, Jun and Jun girl. The official world rankings you see here. There is actually no official World ranking yet for the masters...Sj Kalliokoski wrote:Please no more classes, we have already now too many over laping ones.

These are the ones we should push for officially as World Rankings. And the Pro ranking as prio 1.
All the other rankings are just for fun and different objectives. 1 year ranking for the short term motivation and the 4 year ranking for the long term motivation. Maybe we should add a lifetime ranking also. All years count. :-)
Just as in other sport you can rank things in many ways. There are so much more rankings we can do. We have for all classes, 1 and 4 year, Rookie ranking, life time race count ranking. But one could add who has had most first places, most podium in Worlds, and ... the list can go on forever.
If you are a ranking freak there is no end to what rankings you may calculate. But that is of course all the rankings under the hood. There are only 5 official ISSA World Rankings.

i really agree with SJ on that point : i would love to see an overall Men ranking, with no more class, further more since most of european races are held as Open !
