RYE AIRFIELD PARK/BANK SLALOM THROWDOWN
Announcing the first Rye Airfield Park Slalom. Basically we'd rent out Rye Airfield (www.ryeairfield.com) for 2 or 3 hours at 9pm some night and set a course. The park is perfect with any number of lines with big banks and transition. This will be set so that most will be able to make it with any number of setups. More agressive courses will be set after if there is time. A day needs to be set and I'm not sure of everyone's interest/schedule. Anyone interested? We really need 15-20 people to make this worthwhile.

I'm willing to try. It sounds like fun!! I need to start going to old man night as well. Is anyone going this Wed? I really need to skate. When does Newburyport close for the winter?
I took my first slam on a slalom board the other night. I pratice pumping on a smooth and flat surface in my office parking lot. Sometimes I don't wear any safety equipment, including a helment. I did wear the helment that night, but that was it. I had severe frontal wheel bite. I pitched forward so fast, I was not able to tuck the shoulder and roll. My head hit the ground first. Nice headache few a few hours. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMENT!!!
Hope to skate with everyone soon.

I would be up for that. TK held a banked slalom race last year around the July 4th Boston race. I didn't go due to twisted ankle at the slalom race the day before. Saw pictures and it looked cool, albeit scary. Are people skating Wednesday nights at Rye? I'd come up and join you if I can ever escape baby duty. I will be moving to the North Shore (Melrose) in December which I hope will increase my likelyhood of skating with you Magnolia Maddogs more often.
