[2012] 5th Annual - Barbecue / Skateboard Race! Aug 25
Is it really the fifth? Yes, I counted them. This is the...
FIFTH ANNUAL
SOUTH HADLEY BARBECUE & SKATEBOARD RACE
SATURDAY, AUGUST 25TH
11 AM start —— Sunday, Rain Date.
A recap for any un-initiated out there:
The race is run literally out of my driveway and down my street. The road is fairly steep and near a dead end. We will start with a Hybrid-y race from the driveway, followed by a B-Start/ Kid's Race from a bit lower while we get the vittles going, followed by a Super -G from the top for those who dare.
We have been well received with this event so far, but (unrelated I hope) two houses along the route are currently for sale and hopefully the new neighbors will also be pleasantly amused by this event. Your continued consideration of this situation is both expected and appreciated.
Sorry for the later than usual notice. Family life and work schedules were a bit more complicated this year.
Please chime in here if you plan on attending so that I can plan the shopping list. As usual, donations will be welcome.
Hope to see you there!

I'll be there. Maddie and Olivia will probably not make this one :( They were invited to Canobie Lake Park and a sleepover for Friday.

Re: 5th Annual - Barbecue / Skateboard Race!
Thanks to everyone who responded here, texting and email.
We're still on for tomorrow ~11am. Ashton Lane in South Hadley.
Looks like the regulars and a few new faces expected.
---Big enough for a party, small enough for the neighbors to tolerate!
Last minute additions are still welcome!
.
.
ps - There is potential for a CW magazine article this year.

Thank you everyone for coming to the fifth annual South Hadley Barbecue/Skateboard Race!
A good day of skating. You guys looked HOT. ;o)
There were some glitches with the timer and there were *way* too many falls today, but luckily we got things worked out and nobody got seriously hurt.
I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
I hope you are not all as tired as I am.
Plan on it again next year!

Hybrid Slalom results:
1 Karll 17.18
2 Glen 18.26
3 Terry 19.62
4 Dan 20.04
5 Dave K 21.92
6 Dave GW 22.10
7 Lindsey 25.91
Hybrid B Start:
1 DGW 12.72
2 Lindsey 13.25
3 Heather 14.60
4 Bailey 16.56
5 Adam 17.05 (small plastic board)
6 Jonathan 17.99 (first day slaloming)
Giant Slalom:
1 Karl 16.35
2 Glen 16.61
3 Terry 16.63
4 Dave K 17.39
5 Dan 18.02
Giant Slalom, B Start:
1 DGW 13.16
2 Lindsey 13.40
3 Adam 15.57 (still on that scarily small board)
4 Bailey 16.156
5 Heather 17.51
I thought I had posted these here already, but maybe it didn't "stick". Sorry for the wait (let's say it's Dan's fault!). These little outlaws are so much fun, we really ought to try to revive the NE series, help/join Dr. No's series, and otherwise keep it going without taking on more than we can have fun with. I can find the energy, maybe I'll roll out the October Outlaw in Antrim and hope we don't get another blizzard to land on it. - dk
