hey curt this is glenn do u wanna run some cones in westerly theres a wicked awsome spot its outlaw worthy but its not gonna be here long becuase its gonna be a niborhood soon. its near the beach email me and ill give u directions so if u wanna check it out we should do summin there this weekend. the hill is fast enough for speed wobbles and the pavement is 10/10 we just need a broom from trucks that track dirt on it but only in a few spots if that sounds good

The Carve Master
Who knew he could make turns only of 1/4 of a circle!! Normally, on a snowboard, CMC is going 180* or more around the dial. What'd ya do, Curt, put 'lean only' back truck on that board?!
Congrats on the wiggle-fest Win!!

Yes it was a great day in NJ. Thanks Noah for everything. Killer race despite my trip to the woods gone bad.
Great pics from Leo and our host. I will finish developing my B&W shots by Friday and post a slide show.
Thanks especially to all who made the effort from such long distances.
CMC is a pro.

Outlaw Race #1 Highlights
Vid is pretty low-res. Works best on small screen.
13mb wmv runtime is 3min 32 sec.
Also as construction begins on the farm next week, our killer Smartramps need a new home. I will first ask Hays but I don't think he can house them right now. If anyone has any ideas where the hell we can store these suckers, pls let me know. Tks.

The Next Farm Outlaw:
"Little Robbie's Birthday Slalom" in Northen New Jersey!
Contest Date and Time: Saturday, July 8th 2006. Practice starts 10am.
Entry Open.
Format: Two races, a Hybrid down a fast hill, and a TS down a smaller hill with two curves thrown in. Both courses will be at least 50 cones or longer.
Location Hofstra Park, Prospect Park, NJ
Organizer Team Fatboy: NJDB Chapter.
Map http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?la ... k&qc=Parks
Contest Info There will be two races: a FAST hybrid and a FAST TS down a bike path that runs down hill.
Pics of the Hybrid hill: looking downhill
Looking uphill:
And the TS hill:
Both hills have great runouts that run back uphill. No footbraking required.
Pavement: Butter smooth, 9/10. Just paved last year:
The park is reserved for us from 10am to 5pm. But, since the park is reserved for a Birthday Party and not a slalom race, I'm still labeling this as an Outlaw. I have had cops come up and give me the okay to run here before, and that's without the park reserved in my name. So I don't foresee any problems. Plus, Nick I. will be playing the part of "Little Robbie" and is fully prepared to turn on the water works if we need it.
Just in case, we do have a backup location 20 minutes away.
The Park itself has two big playgrounds and a pavillion right next to where we are running the Hybrid. So bring the kids, coolers, dead meat to cook on a grill, etc. I'm currently working on an Alchohol permit so we can enjoy some Adult beverages in the park, but otherwise the party can move to my backyard 4 blocks away where anything goes. Yes, anything.
I'm currently waiting on an access code for NCDSA, so keep watching over there for a signup.

does the meat have to be dead that we bring?
Might be fun to play a little "chase the live weasel before we kill it and grill it" with the other birthday guests, no?
Do we have permission for BOTH hills?

Rob,
Your spot looks great with the trees and way it bends its way through the park. A tad narrow, but I'm sure the speed is killer. It's time to hit NJ again. My last visit to NJ was Columbus Day weekend 1979 to skate CherryHill Skatepark of course.
The Maine leg of the Outlaw Farm Series is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of July 22. We are hoping to make it a two day event, to make it worth the trip. GS Friday night, HS and TS sat., sat night party on the lake.
Currently, I'm working with the town to get permission. The guy I need to speak with is on vacation, again. I got the cold shoulder from his assistant, but once I explained slalom etc..(bullshited) she warmed right up. Thanks Joe I for all the good tips, they really work. Another week and we should know if its a go or not at this location.
Joe I - I'm e-mailing some pictures to you. Please post a few so everyone can get an idea of the hills etc..
Thank you.

Rob,
It's not that you stink at taking pictures, it just difficult to capture the true depth/steepness of the any hill. The pictures of my location don't due the hill justice at all. Most of the pictures make the hill look relatively mellow. Your pictures certainly make the courses look fast. However, the width looks like half that of the Needham course. I'm glad the course is wider as the metal bike rack next to the course was making me a bit nervous.
I'm hoping to get permission next week. We need permission as the police station is almost directly across the street. Also, I'm hoping the July 22nd date sticks.
I was thinking we should have a hundred lobsters, seafood chowder, scallops, clams etc...

Regardless of width I'm still going to hit way more than my share of cones.
Yes, Fatboy you heard right. Of course, the slowest racers get the biggest lobsters.

Paul, Fatboy's right, its about a car lane wide, maybe a little less, but plenty of room for Hybrid. Don't worry about that bike rack, its towards the bottom of the hill, so most likely the course will have ended and you'll start to do the runout thing there. Besides, as long as its not anchored into the ground, we'll pick it up and move it back. It's all good.
Mmmmm, Lobster Cakes
EDIT: Actually, now that I went back and looked at the pictures, I know what rack your talking about. Don't worry, we'll be moving that no problem.

Actually, I was hoping to ollie the bike rack and perhaps remove some of my cone penalties.
How close is that concrte park (Wally Holiday) to the race site?
