2006 Olympic snowboarding

Post by Jonathan Harms » Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:38 pm

So far, racing hasn't started and halfpipe has already ended.

Speaking of halfpipe, did anyone else nearly s**t their pants while watching Kelly Clark's last run? I've done and seen my fair share of snowboarding, and I have NEVER seen a woman do airs so high and with such power. I was blown away! I just wish she'd landed that last 900 cleanly, because that run was so frickin' good. She lands that air cleanly? Screw the gold, give her a platinum medal. :-) I don't want to take anything away from Hannah Teter and Gretchen Bleiler, but Clark's run was a whole order of magnitude better than any of the others I saw.

I'd have to dump her! :-) No, just kidding.

Seriously, though, the coolest thing about that run was that ALL of her hits were just as bio as that one--just boom! boom! boom! one after the other. I was totally impressed.

boarder-x qualifyings were fun to watch this morning! Our boy Jasey Dq'ed in a pretty intense qualifying run, took a spill and got 5th overall :( Spoiler -> Yah, paul-henri's run was intense, took a good line and pulled ahead, well played. Congrats to scott wescott..

man I'd love to try that stuff.

Hey, man, how about writing "SPOILER ALERT" or something for those of us who don't want to know who won yet! The weather here sucks so I've got plenty of time to sit in front of the TV at night.

"Blame Canada!" :-)

Aw, I was only half serious. But thanks. Now where's my magnifying glass so I can read that tiny type later? :-)
