So what happens if all the kids in the neighborhood decide to go slaloming?
I didn't coach these kids either- though they do beg at times. Yet somehow- my boards are missing too at times- luckily its just the Old Faithful Fullnose/Fulltrack/stingers that goes missing. I catch them with my CNC machined trucks and there's hell to pay. My only hope is that they get sponsored.

Looking smooth, Bryan!

I’m guessing that Karl wasn’t the one doing the filming, though according to the homepage associated with the video, he hasn’t sworn off interest in skateboarding. I wonder how is he doing.

Karl is doing well he has gotten the pins removed from his leg and on the road to recovery.Karl has every means of getting back to skating. But he wont be skating this season though, he will probably pick it back up in the spring. As you can see Karl and I are now working on a site for teen slalom. it is not nearly finished but we hope to get more content for it soon.

Bryan, Karl,

Nice start - that banner is great!

But how about reformatting that Turner board into a lower resolution image. A 500 kb image as it is now takes quite a lot of time to load. You can easily get it down to below 100 kb and retain the quality.

Looking forward to future updates. Keep us informed as you progress.

Hi guys, thanks for the concern. After 4 months on the injured list I am skating again. And the best thing, it feels completely naturual, I am making 6 foot gates (although not very fast) but I am getting better.

This is me the getting on the board for the first time in 4 months.
Thanks for the advice Jani about the design, send any young skaters you might know our way.

Hey.

I am glad to see you back on board.

Cool with your web site.

I think I broke my wrist today and typing is hard, I can appreciate the frustration being injured.

Welcome back.

4 months on IR? That sucks.
1st time back on a board and wearing no pads? What did you learn?

Some of my worst wrecks are just playing in front of my house or before I put my pads on and am just playing around or setting a course. A rock, a little stick, a little crack, a little oil...

I'm still trying to learn that pads+no IR are better than looking cool+no pads.

Jayson Mitchell is a gnarly pool skater. Kids are always asking him to teach them one of his moves. If they don't have full pads, he always tells them "sure, right after you get your equipment on".

Sk8 Safe...

Chris Barker,
Karl’s injuries happened in an altercation with a motor vehicle. Pads probably wouldn’t have changed the outcome of it much. That said...

Karl,
Chris is right. You should seriously consider wearing pads right now. You may not be able to do what you could do before the accident. At this stage, you are testing yourself. If you fail, you could be out another 6 weeks, or much worse! What you are doing is like if I were to race slalom with no pads.
If you can’t get any good knee pads, let me know - I have some unused WesE-specials in size-Medium that I bought as a backup set. If they fit you, they are yours, as long as you promise to wear them. Or let me know what size you need and I will pick some up if they are still available. I also have some size-M Protec elbow pads that I retired due to them being a little bit large.
I have been wearing pads for almost my entire ‘skateboarding-career’. The amount of times they have saved me is truly unquantifiable.

Well, I'm glad that you are back on the board. Be careful. Wear your pads. Go to a bike shop and get a rear-view-mirror that clips onto your sunglasses (no, I'm not kidding. I use one of these when I'm riding on streets that are open to motor vehicles). Don't skate on sidewalks.

I have pads, except I lost my left wrist pad (maybe I should just put my arm back in a cast to save time).

I am wearing my pads when going through gates. In the picture I was going under 5 MPH and I needed to show it to some certian female friends of mine, so I just went w/o pads then.

Thanks for the offer Wes.

I haven't bought new pants in awhile due to casts and whatnot so my knee pads don't fit under them. I need to get a new pair.

I can't wait untill I start physical therapy next week just to see what the therapist's reaction is to "I can skateboard completely naturally, but I can't walk right."

Cars are scary, whats scarier is that I am getting my learner's permit next week.

Karl: "Doctor, now that my leg has healed will I be able to skateboard?"

Doc: "Yes, I don't see why not."

Karl: "That's wonderful news! I couldn't skateboard before the accident!"

damn kids- stole my Radikals, snapped the kingpins....better them than me- at least I get the newer kingpins now.

MY predictions are a strong rivalry between the USA teens and Euro teens.
