slalom skateboarding equipment
I agree with Corky in the belief that a 6-wheeler should not be a legal slalom competition skateboard. During this debate, others have argued that any device defined as a skateboard is therefore legal for slalom skateboarding. To me, that is equivalent to saying that since automobile racing is perfo...

I'm sorry, but I don't see how the Farm, a race that has occurred annually for 5 years ends up with a basic status for '06, while the Ohio race ends up as a main, when '06 will be its inaugural event. The strong history and professionalism of the Farm race should allow it to maintain its main status...

Since the MSSS '05 is on hold, could this race be considered "prime"?

Well, the power in Stahlstown just came back on today at noon, after being off for 108 hours. I manned the generator, woodburner, and sump-pump and kept the house warm, the food cold, and the basement dry. Well Marty, I'm definitely thinkin' about it. I WAS planning on going to the MSSS '05, but I think that point is moot. There are only 2 "prime" level races in the USA East division, and the MSSS was one of them. I don't think that last year's event was up to the level one would expect for a prime ev...

Plasti-Dip bumpers
I'd like to see some evidence that the Plasti-Dip bumper idea has actually saved a foam-cored deck from serious damage. All of the impact force is still transfered to the point of the deck's nose, and I don't think that it is thick or resilient enough to absorb/dissipate a good smack into a curb. Bu...

Marion's busting his hump to get all of the details done and then posting it. He has even been in touch with Corky to make sure we all get points. It's just my personal opinion, but, seems to me that as we grow our grass roots sport, one good way for us to get "noticed" by the mainstream media, local police departments, and insurance companies is to have a few serious head injuries to call attention to slalom. There are usually 3 questions before each race: Timer Ready? Response should come from timekeeper. then Course Ready? Response should come from cone marshalls. then Racers Ready? Response should come from racers. If the racer has been told that the course is ready, than a cone out means that the cou...

Last year, at T4G, the Saturday events were held at the Pheasant Run Area of Seneca Creek State Park.
