2015 Worlds, Euros and US Nationals - Call to organizers

Post by Jani Soderhall » Tue Jun 24, 2014 7:38 pm

Planning for 2015

It's high time for organizers to start planning for the 2015 season!

We are now inviting organizers to contact the ISSA BOD (anyone of us, or anyone of the status marshals) to let us know if you'd be interested in holding one of these high level events in 2015: Worlds, Euros, and US Nationals.

World Championships 2015
Preliminary applications to be submitted to EU or US status marshals (or directly to the BOD) by August 31st.
Typically the Worlds would go to US next year, but we've removed the mandatory annual switch between continents to open up for other continents, as well as making sure that the best candidate gets the event. Taking on the Worlds is no easy task so previous organization of high level events is a requirement.
The Worlds in 2015 will be subject to a limitation on the total number of riders. We believe this will be better for both organizers and participants. Riders, please note that your ranking position of 2014 will be used for this selection. Better get your points together to qualify.

European Championships 2015
Candidate applications are welcome until September 30th.
Review and assignment will be handled by the EU status marshals.
The Euros in 2015 will be subject to a limitation on the total number of riders. We believe this will be better for both organizers and participants. Riders, please note that your ranking position of 2014 will be used for this selection. Better get your points together to qualify.

US Nationals 2015
Candidate applications are welcome until September 30th.
Review and assignment will be handled by the US status marshals.
No racer limitation planned as of yet.

Other Main events
Candidate applications are welcome until November 30th.
Organizers are strongly invited to submit their preliminary applications for other high status events (Main, or Prime candidates). We need all Mains to be settled by new year to allow sufficient time for both organizers and racers to plan the next season.

Thanks!

Reminder: If you have an interest in doing any big events next year, please make yourself known. Deadlines are coming up fast.

We already have some interest from Jack Smith for a Worlds (MAJOR) in Morro Bay, any other candidates out there?
For the Euros (MAJOR) and the US Nationals (MAIN) we'd like to know if there are any candidates.
For MAIN events there's officially some time left in the calendar, but the sooner we get the information the better it is.

Contact the status marshals with your interest and applications. Applications only have to be temporary now. The primary objective is to inform the status marshals of your intentions and let them understand the scope of your upcoming events.

North America:
Lynn Kramer, USA
Mary-Beth Lavoie, CAN
Jonathan Harms, USA

Europe:
Robert Thiele, GER
Peter Klang, SWE
Gustavs Gailitis, LAT

Thanks.

No Application has yet been received for the Worlds 2015 in North America.
We are now also open for applications from organizers outside of North America to hold the Worlds 2015.

Here's a repeat of the procedure. Notice that we are already very late, so we need to act quickly now!
Background
- Applications should be handed in to the Status marshals of the region as early as possible to allow review and discussions well in advance of the June 30th deadline.
- Applications reviewed June 30th - August 31st. During time applicants will be requested to finalize their applications, if not yet complete.
- Final decision taken by the ISSA BOD no later than Sept 1st.
If you have the capabilities to do it, let us know. Feel free to contact anyone within the ISSA BOD or one of the status marshals in North America, or in Europe to discuss!

Event Cancelled! We need to hear from you about running a one or two day outlaw single lane event. We are thinking of running two races on one day then set-up a GS at one of the same spot the next day.
We need to know who is interested in attending the event? Please send Chris, MB or Claude a PM….

The main reason for the cancelation of the big race is insurance, which is problematic this year. The underlying issues are Claude needing heart surgery again in the coming months… My appointment to schedule the surgery is the 9th of September.
Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in attending. We will charge a nominal fee in order to come up with some prizes……

Please contact us with a yes or no by August 21st. We will post up a confirmation on Saturday the 22nd…

Thank you, Cornwall Classic organizers.
Many Happy Pumps!
