Cheap 'hacked' timing system

Post by Michael Stride » Sat Oct 19, 2013 1:42 pm

Hi, picked up a bargain timer from Maplin (electronics store in the UK) and modded it for single lane slalom timing, ideal for practice sessions. I have seen the same toy on other websites worldwide. http://youtu.be/qe-1ftGjUm4

Amazing, this must be the most inexpensive piece of training equipment, and the cool thing is that you only need one tapeswitch.
Ok, it doesn't do random beep start, it doesn't do false start detection, but who needs that for practise and who can beat this price?

Michael, are you reselling the modified version?

try " Race trace" by third wheel LLC. its on the apps store on apple for iPhone. I do not own it, but it looks like you set a start and a finish custom track and voila! Practice timer for 15 dollars u.s.. It is supposed to handle any type of race including drag race.

Cant see that being a good suggestion? Firstly you have to ride with an Iphone.... and the accuracy of GPS is pretty useless, in smaller distances.
