Lot of fun yesterday in Paris
and my new Pavel "tight" board rocks!
Two spots (just in the same area)
We did a slalom hybrid/special under the metro and dual tight on our classic "Italie2" spot.

hum hum... !! !! !!
DQed by the group is clearly not what I would say!

yes I was late (I was principally helping my roomates to move...)
but the sun was bright and I finally managed to come and skate

Before last sunday we always accepted people to enter a race as long that the qualif rounds weren't finished (but if during second round = only one timed run)...

but this time, sadly a few were a bit disapointed that my training run (it was OK to do one before my timed run) was better than the fastest time of the day. So I finally had no other times... and continue to skate with the buddies

I launched this races 2 years ago and people still have fun and now it works quite well with or without me now.
I don't wanna fight, so it's not a problem to let the points to those who want so much to keep them for themselves

The Pirate will continue anyway,
the important things is to skate and bring more people to slalom

Not really the place to talk about that but you shoudln't join Patrick to this bullshit!

bad bad Vincent, I didn't get that poor little boys were in the cold during the morning
so it's really not cool at all to arrive late,
especially if I've done special KGB training made of stairs climbing and carrying pieces of furniture and boxes...

Even if we insisted to announce that a Giant was to begin at 14:00 so people could come only in the afternoon...
it was time to change our kind and friendly habits to make an example!

The new moral order is on his way in France and even slalom skateboarders are proud of this new times behind our President.

What a dangerous troubemaker am I! bad bad bad Vincent

Lame!

Post by Claude Regnier » Wed Dec 19, 2007 11:02 pm

The whole idea of not allowing Vince's time to stand is lame. I really can't believe you guys denied him racing if he was there on time. Points or not.

Simply LAME!

I guess we probably could have worked out something better...

Admittedly, Vincent did arrive after everybody's third and last run and it didn't seem quite fair to just let him win without giving anybody else another chance...

I was asked if we should count Vincent's time, and I gave my opinion and said no. If we had, I considered I deserved at least another run which quite honestly I didn't feel like taking. I also told people I wasn't exactly the right person to ask considering the consequences of such a decision.

We could have simply done more runs, like take the eight first times and give them two extra runs, or even do another course... but nobody brought that up and some people were pretty eager to put everything away and to get over with the race, which I can understand... We had been there since 10/11h, setting up the timer, setting up the courses, it was 3h30, it was cold, people were tired, they still had to give out prizes and put everything away...

But whatever... this probably should have been discussed a little more seriously at the time. It wasn't up to me, it wasn't a big race, there will be more races and honestly it's not such a big deal...

hey guys
above all the pirate races are ,meant to be fun
never forget the original intention

you going in the wrong direction

i had people at my races who were not good enough for the course and in a real race they would have dqued.i didn't dq them so that they had a valid time to look at and to encourage them for more.

see,we took it easy too...
and if dom would have showed up late and beating everybody else who already had a few tries,well.....shame on the rest.

the germans wouldn't do what you have done

are we so different from each other?

i think not

merry x-mas to the trocadero bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hum Allan runs weren't finished at all want I arrived... race was still on!
(and I was said I could have a run even if only my test try was taken as a time)

Now let's move on something else!

Donald is right, and we set some objectives at the beginning of the year that Pirates should be more opened to new people, and not only racing for racing... that's not really what happens so let's try to remember this now!

wow
it s so funny

where did someone see Vinzzz could not race ?

He arrived at 3.30 PM (race started at 10 AM) and could skate untill cones were take off.
He had prices (swaggg) like he was FIRST (AEXEQUO with Pat), a wheels set, everybody else go home with one bushing and one pad !!!
When I posted day times, I always mentionned Vinzzz did the best time on his first training run.
He had runs he managed to have before the timing systems was take off (here I have to say one thing - thanks - for people WHO HELP ALL THE DAY for cone judging, and time keeping, by approx 0°C!)

Our decision was symbolic only, just for Pirates points, voted by Pirate core, and motivated by the fact Vinzzz was not here the day long.
If everybody don t care about our local ranking and "points", why everybody s shouting???

edit : Vinzzz, when you arrive, there was only two riderz who did not take their third runs : Thibaut and Flavien.
Pat was on the first racer on each race this day.

there's a few point wrong again about details
but don't you forget that during the first season I was often nearly alone setting race, shooting the whole day and managing the timing system, results and website during the night... (of course I wasn't alone, David and JS were active too)

and this time I wasn't sleeping but helping friend and came when I could!
What a lame symbol and childish reactions!
That's not orginal Pirate spirit...

Considering all said and done above, are you guy running two BIG events in 2008 (Paris and Grenoble). Just for the record, send in your status application now because a lot of other organizer has. There’s basically only one main remaining.

In french... the next PIRATE will go CYBER!
NCDSA and RIDERZ Challenge

http://www.riderz.net/index.php?option= ... &Itemid=19

Image

Thanks all... was a very good racing day...
although in spite of the "jam" format we had wanted to do, we didn't take that many more runs than normal (3 or 4 for some...)
with a little more serious and attention from everyone, I'm sure we could have done a lot more...

We're still using pens and paper...

I think Vinzzz is planning on using the excelmate program for the next race...

Times could have been faster but none of us were in a "recordbreaking" form and I had forgotten my hard wheels...

Will do better next time...

Did you try out the excelmate program or did you do the old paper and pencil routine?
No test yes. I asked for but I suppose no one had tme to do it.
But I took the chrono at home after the race (It's Jani's, he lets us use his chrono), so I should at least try to test that for the next time.
Big problem will be more about having enough power for the computer during the next race, a giant lost in the fileds...

yup its a problem with power at small races where you don't have a power generator. And if you have a new expensive laptop with a fresh battery that would last a race, perhaps having it outdoors at a skateboard race is not the first thing you choose.

Anyways I was just curious if you had tried it. Please let me know if you do. I have some new exciting stuff regarding the program coming up soon.

Well done guys - Team ConeRacing rules!
Really nice spot! I wish I would have skated, but I was too worried looking after the kids, that slope wasn't really the right place for them to race!

Congrats to you PAVEL-addicts, especially to Fred for landing on the podium and not on the pavement!

hum and we didn't test this time again...
It's probably better if Jani do it as one again he couldn't remember to bring the cable needed that I don't own ;)

Don't worry about it Hans. I brought a normal second, space cable for the giant, but Vincent also wanted me to bring a serial to USB adapter. It's a standard adapter which I haven't used since 2004, so it didn't strike my mind when I packed my stuff.

If you decide to use it at the next race you don't have to spend time to upload results anymore - more time to skate (or time to buy that missing cable :) )!
