DC sesh this week

Post by Rick Floyd » Thu Oct 04, 2007 11:33 pm

Hey Ohm, BP, Earl...and anyone else down here I would have skated with.

I've been wiped out from Antrim and the Worlds, and very busy work-wise here in DC. Sorry I can't sesh with you this trip...next time.

Great to hang with y'all at Skatesville!

Yea, I'm wiped out too and I didn't even skate those events. My voice is getting better after emceeing the TS at The Worlds. The DHBs and Statesville's Worlds was awesome....all the racers were great. It was also great to meet Jani from this site & it was cool meeting you....give us a shout next time you are in the DC/Baltimore area....we'll give you a shout when we are hitting up the slopes in New England. I've got to move...too much anti this & that where I live....that's why we are the DC Outlaws!

I finally raced my first race!!! Took 6th in the B Class at the La Costa Open. I could have done better but I spooked on the ramps so I was starting from beside them and I just couldn't make up the time. I was able to make several clean runs and had plenty of more speed in me.....we'll have to see at the Dixie if I get the chance to race.

Nice one doctor! Congrats!

I may be down in DC again Nov. 7-14 - hopefully catch The Boss while I'm there. I'll post here in case there is any skating going on.

Congrats Neil! sounds like you did better then you expected. Way to go. You'll get over the ramp thing in no time.

Dillon, Thanks a lot for emceeing at the worlds as usual you did a great job. You could probably tell by the look at my face when you were leaving that I thought we would have some time to chat that evening but I understand.

Take care and hope to see you soon again.

Rick you just keep getting better all the time and Good Luck with the winter season.

I'm finaly almost all healed up from the worlds. Apparently by knee (not the cut one) didn't appreciate the trauma from the fall I took on the practice course on thursday. I ouldn't walk for a week. I'm lucky I didn't book La Costa on this trip like I was planning.

Anyway got to shower and head for the airport as I'm heading to COSSLAND to get my ass kicked and then head out to NC from there on Monday.

Ohm & Parsons have a sfae trip to Dixie. Looking forward to seeing and hopefully hanging a bit. JD hope you can make it can always use your attendance to add spark, excitment and some great knowledge at any event.

Fountainhead was in great shape yesterday. We just had about 1 hour of leaf clearing before we could skate. It should be perfect for the DC Outlaw next weekend.

Its been awhile but I ate SH&* on a toe side turn. I think my wheels just broke away or my trucks tipped. It was wierd, I f'd my wrists up a little. We kept skating and opened the course up a bit. It skated alot better after that. I think I know how to set a killer GS on the back. Speeds are deceivingly fast.

Dr. No and Boswell stopped by to help sweep and Boswell took some pics. Hey Bos, post em' up.

Hope to see some DHB's and some Northeaster's make the race next weekend or at least one of the dates on the calendar.

Earl and I skated Fountainhead today. Nice 40 degree calm day on the front hill. Tested the Zak Matum bushings as well. Nice job Zak, just work on the finishing cause they were a little uneven.

Earl had so much fun he almost s'd himself, literally.

Is there going to be any good outlaw slalom racing this summer? I wouldn't mind throwing myself through some cones in the nice summer heat.

I got a chance (with the help of the DC Outlaws in a roundabout way) to check out the COSS guys in action out here in Colorado today. They are a fast bunch and looked like a real tight group of riders. Reminded of my days with the DC Outlaws. Anyway, glad to see that John Dillon and others (Brian, Mike, Jeff, PADan, Wesley, and the new guys) are keeping the spirit alive in the DELMARVA and beyond area.

I'll be keeping up with the DC summer racing from out west online. Have fun and get some turns & slams in for me.

P-n-R

Post by John Dillon » Mon Apr 28, 2008 1:30 am

I was @ the P-n-R yesterday and it needs a good clean-up.....w/a blower and the area where we always used to set courses has a 5 ft wide swath of spilled oil or burnt rubber going down the length of the course....we may be able to skate to the right of this but the sun will have to bleach this clean....plus the asphalt is getting a bit weathered....there's plenty of loose gravel throughout. I rode in the next lot where we normally parked our cars and where Vlad used to roll before he started killing BP's courses....in fact, it's where I met Q & Bertleboy. I did ride my slalom board for the 1st time in ages...twas good to be out on it. Kenny & I are working on something in Baltimore...if the city doesn't quash it like they did last time we may be in for a cool race venue. Fingers crossed....until then, rip the bowls!

I think I still have a slalom board.

I think that is everything is just right and all the stars are aligned in absolute perfection I just might be able to ride with you guys again one day. I will just need to be off of work and if it can be on a Sunday maybe I will even drag Aaron to a race too since he works all the time including Saturdays.

I hope all you guys are doing good. I have been surfing a lot. Bought some new boards. There's gonna be surf tomorrow in VB and up and down the coast. Thats where I will be tomorrow.
