Summerville - 27
Fort Dorchester - 12

'Cross town rivals from the "new high school." They played it close with the Wave only having a 13-12 lead at the half. The rains came HARD in the second half and Summerville's superior ground game kept it out of the Fort's reach. It was pretty well decided when they drove to the Wave's 41 but fumbled it away.

Both the niece and nephew graduated from the Fort. Thank goodness things will be kind of quiet out of those two for another year!

Just got back from voting. It's POURING rain today (first real storm in a month) and the balloting is STEADY.

Although I live in a precinct that's about 75% GOP and a state that's almost 65%, it's good to see a really good voter turnout despite the weather. I'm hearing reports of 70-75% turnout in some states.

In an off-year election.

That's incredible.

Tom,

There's a new sheriff in town and a new attitude:

"Moral victories" are for chumps. You either win or you lose. We lost.

Next we take on Middle Tennessee that has proven to be no cream puff this year. Then, it's off to the Land Of Moo to put a beat down on some orange A-She-She lightweights.

After watching the 'Cocks lose by a total of 21 points to the 3rd, 5th, 8th and 12th ranked teams in the country, I just have a good feeling about a break out.

Tammy Bowden is pissing in her drawers thinkin' about it!

Did you hear what he said after the Virginia Tech game? He got hit in the head with a PLASTIC mini-bottle. His response was, "if I had turned around it could have killed me!"

What a puss.

Oh, the guy arrested for it is a KLEMPSUN fan.

James Brown is dead.

Thank goodness.

Remember James Brown, the Godftather of Soul?

Yeah, I remember James Brown. I remember living in Columbia in the ‘80s and every morning turning on WBBQ-FM out of Augusta to hear about what James did last night. It just wasn’t a good week in the CSRA without a high-speed chase through the streets of Beech Island. It’s a miracle no one was ever killed.

Remember those smug Hollywood clowns looking down their nose at South Carolina because this state had the ‘nads to lock up that reprobate?

Remember the protests? “Free James Brown!”

Yeah. Free the punk to get drunk, get high, get behind the wheel and scream through Aiken County again at 120 mph.

73 years old, a decent entertainer and still a punk. The only thing more worthless than a geriatric punk is the dumb Bee-otch who went back to get hit by the SOB THE SECOND TIME.

Yeah, I remember James Brown. His music lives in his recordings. Other will live now that he can’t get behind the wheel anymore.

Well they finally hung Saddam Hussein, miss him? He has, after all, been an obsession of American politicians since 1991. Since the Washington media obsess over whatever the politicians obsess over, Saddam's face has adorned our television screens for 14 years. He bears a strong resemblance, by the way, to the late actor Walter Matthau.

Saddam, without a doubt, has gotten more air time and more ink than any dictator in the post-World War II world. Never before has so much attention been lavished on a man who, on the world stage, has always been so insignificant.

Iraq, being a relatively small country, with a population of about 25 million people divided into three quarreling groups, never in its history posed a threat to the world. The demonization of Saddam has always been political bull. The only country Iraq ever conquered was Kuwait, which is a postage stamp of a country.

The Kuwaiti leadership fled in their Mercedes, Rolls-Royces and Cadillacs at the sound of the first shot. I've never forgotten an anonymous quote in a Wall Street Journal story. The reporter had asked someone, apparently a Kuwaiti leader, why he was not fighting for his country. "That is what we have our American slaves for," he is quoted as saying.

The Iraqis fought Iran, much to the glee and with the assistance of the United States, but they lost. And Iraq was never a significant factor in any of the Israeli-Arab wars, all of which Israel won. So Saddam's record was only 1-1, assuming you want to call the invasion of Kuwait a victory. It started in the morning and was over by the afternoon.

The fact that Iraq developed and used chemical weapons in its war with Iran is not significant at all. Those weapons were developed in World War I and were used by both the Allies and the Germans. Iran also used them in the 1980s war. It should be noted, as further proof of the basic dishonesty of the American government, that when the chemical attack so often cited by the Bush administration as proof of Saddam's evil actually occurred, an official U.S. government investigation blamed it on the Iranians.

Saddam entertained us with his phony trial. "Hey, you with the glasses," he shouted, referring to the judge. He asserted that the trial was illegal because our invasion was illegal, and therefore, from a legal standpoint, he still was the president of Iraq. What's funny is that he was right – not that it saved him.

But it really is true that our invasion of Iraq was illegal. Iraq was not at war with us, was not preparing to go to war with us and was not a threat to us. Furthermore, Iraq had complied with United Nations resolutions and gotten rid of its weapons of mass destruction, despite the torrent of lies to the contrary that the Bush administration unleashed.

We committed what international law forbids – a war of aggression. And it is true that American invaders are, in effect, trying Saddam. The law and the courts were set up during the occupational government, and the judges were trained by Americans. Saddam was arrested by Americans and held in prison by Americans. It will go down in history as an American-sponsored kangaroo court.

Nobody should misconstrue any of this as a claim that Saddam was not a killer and a thug. He most certainly was. He was known as the Butcher of Baghdad even in the days when the United States government supported him. The U.S. government has supported a lot of killers and thugs, and if it continues its imperialistic foreign policy, it will keep on doing so because our foreign policy completely lacks any morality.

The irony is that a two-bit dictator in a six-bit country has provided American politicians with the opportunity to forever soil America's reputation. We are now considered by most of the world as a rogue nation. Thus Saddam, as he stepped up to the gallows, took perverse pleasure in the fact that he was the cause, though inadvertently, of great and lasting damage to the United States.

There are 2 other drunk driving punks (criminals) still on the loose. G. W. Bush (our alcoholic & cokehead president ) & DICK Cheney, who got arrested twice for drunk driving in WY.
At Least Mr. Brown served his time and gave us some great music. You can't say the same for the 2 other idiots. The only music they create are 2,9997 renditions of TAPS.

Hi, Wes. Nothing new with the parking lot other than yes- definately outlaw and Sundays are low (if any) volume. Pavement is pretty smooth with no gouges or cracks. The slope is slightly steeper than Summerville and definately longer with room at the end to check off some speed. The section I'm looking at could have a course set with banking to the right and room for dual. Everytime I come home from a garage session downtown I pass this lot and think about how appropriate it would be to skate it.

I'm also going to check out Owens Field to see if there are any potentials there. It has been a long time since I've been there so the terrain is pretty much unknown. On the plus side there is an outdoor skatepark at Owens.

If you (or anyone else) would clue me in on how to post a pic I'll definately post some lot pics. I'll also post them on Silverfish in the "Places to Skate" thread.

Bammers are SO STUPID. They could have saved themselves $2 Million a year hiring ME to coach the Tide. I'm sure I could have won 8 games with the crew Shula left behind.

Nope. $4 Million a year for a guy who loses to Spurrier by 35 points a game. I would have gladly done it for half that.

Well, make that $3 Million. It would take at least an extra Mil to get me to move to Tuscaloosa!

I'm stoking the rumor mill a little bit this afternoon.

There's a rumor going around here in the South that Atlanta Falcons ownder Arthur Blank is considering someone who is very defensive minded to take over the team. After Jim Mora's inability to get the most out of John Abraham & Co., it's believed that defense is the key to Atlanta getting back to the Super Bowl. The offense is sporadic but the Falcons are tied to Vick no matter what.

One of the most effective defenses year in and year out over the past few years has been the Eagles. Despite all the turmoil with McNabb, T.O. and just being in Philadelphia, the Eagles can keep people out of the end zone. Even after losing their starting quarterback the Eagles kept right on and took the Eastern Division into the playoffs by the defense controlling Eli Manning, Tiki Barber and a few others.

The rumor is of course that Philadelphia is looking at Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Johnson as head coach.

Now, I know some of you will read this and say, "what in God's name does all this have to do with Slalom Skateboarding? This is so far off topic as to be almost reprehensible!"

Well, it is related to slalom skateboarding.

I'm just not going to say how.

Like I said, it's a rumor.

A U.S. Marine squad was marching north of Faluijiah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist, badly injured and unconscious.

On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened. The Marine reported, "I was moving north along the highway here, and coming south was this heavily armed insurgent. We saw each other and we both took cover in the ditches along the road. "I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein is a miserable, lowlife scum bag, and he yelled back that Ted Kennedy is a good-for-nothing, fat, left wing liberal drunk."

"So I said that Osama Bin Ladin dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling, Oh yeah? Well, so does Hillary Clinton!"

"And, there we were, in the middle of the road, shaking hands, when a truck hit us"

Reminds me of my favorite blooper headline: "Iraqi Head Seeks Arms" :-)

Was this a great weekend of college baseball OR WHAT?

Somebody ask Tom Edenton is he's awake.

What a great way to win: humiliate them at their house and come from behind to breakt their stinkin' orange hearts here in Game 2.

Life is SWEET.

#2 with a bullet. That Vandy series at the end of month may just be for all the marbles.

A little home town skate news:

http://www.pandcads.com/videos/mediaSelector.html

When the window pops up select

Skateboarding Video A police officer confronts a skateboarder at a downtown fountain [3/20/07]

I'm not going to say anything. Just watch it for yourself. The location is Charleston's Waterfront Park. I've skated there many times myself.

The guy with the camera sounded kind of like "Puberty Boy" from the Simpsons!

And it was a nice nosewheelie until he got shoved into the bushes... :-)
