tentative schedule of the event
Friday:
registration for the ams/girls opens at 8 am sharp, race starts at 9am sharp
type of course: tight 40 cones 6-7 foot spacing straight on a slightly descending road.
race modus is head to head.
please be aware that the straight line will not be exactly straight as you know it, we will bend it a bit here and there to make it more challenging.
registration for pros starts at 12.00pm, race starts at 1.00pm
the course will be similar to the am course but with a tighter setting, expect a 5-6 foot spacing there. same modus but 50 cones.
friday evening 8pm we will have a park race only for the slalom contestants of the day.
registration for that is free and prizes will be sponsored by our sponsors for this fun race.
no points to be earned, no honour to be lost, just fun - a bit of adrenaline and whatever you get out of it.
the race requires basic skills such as kickturns and carving abilities.
during and after the park race we will have some djing by a local whatever dj who is supposed to play good music. heiko and vince will also celebrate their birthday that night.
so please bring gifts for the two young men.
Saturday:
special starts at 9 am sharp the street is freshly paved and has a slight descent, so you will get fast on that street. cone spacing between 6-8 feet, depending on the couse and the flow it creates. expect around 40-50 cones.
pros start at 1 pm
same course as the ams, again, but some offsets will be spaced a bit wider, more technical on that course.
expect the course to be very fast for the pros.
saturday eve at 7 pm death race at the cradle, whoever wants to participate should be more experienced than the average rider. entry fee is 30 euros, registration is at the park.
Sunday:
giant-please bring long boards!!!
ams start at 8 am, pros start at 12 pm
the course will be longer than the average European course, please be aware of that. depending on your abilities you might clock very fast times on that hill.
basically its an easy hill. i don't want to scare anybody off, but depending on the cone setting and the pump you create it can be really fast.
on all slalom races i have one requirement for each and everybody, same goes for the cradle skatepark: helmets are mandatory. no helmet, no race.
i will show pics and vids of the tracks, exact location and so on the next few days.
feel free to comment on anything i write, i'm doing this contest for you.
prizes and awards will be given away the the cradle skatepark around 7-8 pm

Dear Donald,
WE'LL HAVE TO DRIVE 6 HOURS and we are not the only people. On monday morning I will have to go to the office. It is my (but I do not think that I'm alone) personal opinion that it is not the right solution to have the awards cerimony at that time (too late). I do not think that for you will be a problem if we (the italian team) will decide to skip the cerimony if it will be at night.
Sorry, but on Monday morning I will have to work....I got one day of on friday, I do not want to have another one on monday.
Hopefully you will be abel to finish it around seven o'clock at latest.
Stefano

it's good to object so late against the time schedule after it has been posted for a few weeks already.
i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
see there's 5 events all in all packed into 3 days, what can i do?
I can't make it right for each and everybody I'm really sorry.
In your special case I have to remark that most of your concerns (also about lodging) come very, very late.
I'm off to brixlegg tomorrow morning to get things rolling.
Maybe you should also try to improve a bit stefano.

what is a park race?
which board do i bring?
basically a pool board and all you do is carve around a bit and follow a certain line, same as in slalom.basic skills are required for this contest such as dropping in and kickturns.
again:this is a fun event and will be free of charge

How do you tell Special and Tight slalom?
The last couple of races Tight always meant Straight Slalom - how will you/we have it in Brixlegg?
(it's absolutely not important for me to know that but I just wondered about that.)

Dear Donald,
if you watch the situation from your perspective, you could have been right,
BUT, in this case I do not think so.
If fact, due to busy time and due to the fact that I do not have web connection at home at the moment, it was almost impossible for me to follow all the discussion inside the forum on the web during my working day.
The only think that I asked for is to have detailed information on the web on one forum and not to have to search for them all around. It is my opinion that the way you manage the information was not optimised and that sounds not realistic to do the award cerimony at 21:00.
You spent one year to organise the race and you deserve to be respested for this and we have to be thankful to you about this, but please do not suggest me to improve a bit. May, be, just may be, we both have to improbve a bit.....
CU there,
Stefano

Hi Don,
I have really been looking forward to go to Brixlegg, but will unfortunately not have the possiblility to come. I let you know the reasons in the emails I sent you some time ago. Please check your email box, and get back to me privately.
Can I have the entry fee back?
Cheers,
Anders

Confusion
The above schedule lists "girls" at 8 am and "pros" at noon, but what about the Women who are racing for Money? Does that make them "pro?" I hope I don't show up at noon to see no women there. I'll have to race by myself again?
See you in Brixlegg ready to rock.

Yeah, Ok but all joking apart
Which one of the below is the correct running order....some of us would actually like to know....
plus some other bits of vital information would be useful, like the names of the strasse, the races are taking place on? is there parking available at each race site?

It looks like Brixlegg is really really small, like just one main road, houses left and right and thats it. I think the venues will be easy to find. No worries. Parking is usually not a problem in these towns, at least not in summertime.
On a side note: The weather is said to be really nice and warm, a slight chance of thundershowers on Sunday but nothing to worry about.
So let the Games begin!
See you all there!

Probable race locations
I believe that the straight and hybrid courses will be on the same street as Sport Conny's, ie:
RÖMERSTRASSE
6230 BRIXLEGG
Austria
Cut and paste this address into http://www.uk.map24.com/ to get a more accurate visual.
The GS course is on the Reith bypass. Go through Brixlegg and head towards Alpbach. Instead of going into Reith, you bear left and will go through a road tunnel. The road beyond the tunnel should be the GS course.
This track is presumably available because traffic can be diverted through Reith whilst racing is taking place.
But don't take my word for it. If in doubt then ask this local for directions:
