Yes, now we can consider that all our hopes to race the Giant on the big boulevard near the Trocadero are lost.. Sorry, I'm disapointed too
It seems we threaten "Public Order"!
but authorities and politics have been warned the way the prefecture and police considered our demands, so in the future we can hope for more consideration.

One of our juniors is coming to Paris, he has now to pay 65 euros for the event. Does you french guy's start working with 15 year's ? Normaly when you transfer the money earlier you have to pay less than the normal fee. The fee of 55 Euro was announced ? If you pay earlier you pay less, if you pay at the day you pay the 55 Euro.we decide to allow one more week before first payment deadline.
Payment after May 14, AM's pay +5 euros.
Payment after May 21, or on site, AM's pay +10 euros.
We don't use paypal in Switzerland and a bank transfer coast 10-15 swiss francs (10Euro). If you want i will transfer the money by bank and tell them that the receiver will pay the transfer coast. You take from a 15 year old boy 65 Euro to participate in the AM class at the trocadero. What do you think how many times will he do this again ?

The pack is for FOUR DAYS :
4 meals + drinks at one of the most touristic place in Europe
5 skateboard contests (3 slalom races + slide + Nation Cup)
one party as guests with some free drinks in one of the most famous club in Paris
one "VIP" bowl session with demos, music (and foods)
trophies, prizes and more
J-Rad Would you prefer we stopped the registration the 1st of May?
Late registration/payments cost us more, so you pay more for that...
Not tired to whine like that? What's your problem? Want to prove something?

I'm not talking about the 4 day's package. (other people talked about this in this Topic before)
I'm not talking about party's
and I'm not talking about the bowl race/party
My only point is the high entryfee:
What i say is that it can't be that a 15 years old junior has to pay 65 Euros because you put 10 Euro plus because he hasn't transfer the money until May 1. This Kidy has to look with the school, write a paper to get the ok from the school that he can leave earlier. As you know with your permissions of the event, that permissions need time to get it.
I think i needn't to tell you which swiss youngster's can ride pro. Why they don't ride pro ? because they aren't able to pay 110 Euro, why aren't they able ? because they are student's and don't work.
I don't have a problem with the paris race and all the stuff arround the race. It's nice that you all are working so much, but if you take one more eyes on the event and not on the side-events it will be better for shure. I don't know why does it cost you more if someone register at the race side. If the Riderz where a company i would understand it, but i don't think that you pay the staff who works at the event.

No mark set from what I know except the one of last year (but I hadn't time to go to the Trocadero this time)..
at least it's fair for everybody

Hike a ride with Jani. Pre-conditions, suitable time, the appropriate terminal, luck. With a little bit of chance it could work out. Send me an email with all your flight details and we can discuss it.Mike Cividino wrote:also, any tips for the best way to the Eiffel from the airport?
If we can't work it out, take the Air France coach from Charles De Gaulle Airport to Porte Maillot / L'arche de Triomphe. Get off at L'arche de Triomphe. From there you can skate directly south 10 blocks or so on the boulevard that goes straight out from the south side of the arch, or take a taxi, but it'll be a short ride, but with luggage that's understandable.

I think you can also take a train (rer A) from the airport and change at "Charles de Gaulle étoile" (grande arche) and then take subway ligne 6 and get off at "Trocadéro".
Basically you must aim for the subway station "Trocadéro" which is on ligne 6 and ligne 9. The parisian subway system is pretty clear and straightforward. Once you get out there, you walk towards the eiffel tower. Then you should start seeing some cones...

Yes but the RER from CDG Airport is the RER B (and not A like written by Allan here).Patrick Allan wrote:I think you can also take a train (rer A) from the airport and change at "Charles de Gaulle étoile" (grande arche) and then take subway ligne 6 and get off at "Trocadéro".

It's quite fast and easy and cost 8 euros (perhaps you cal also ask about day tickets for 1 to 5 days to have one ticket to travel as much as you want , it's called "Paris Visite")

If You take Air France Bus ( about 10 euro), when you arrived at Arc de Triompe, you could take the bus 22 On avenue Kleber. 3 Stations and you're at trocadero!
French Pirates are in the place...

Peter, there is also a font size = 24 which is slightly larger than the 18 you used.
What kind of reply do you expect? We have no direct contacts with the weather Gods and you know very well the kind of weather you can expect in May: it can be pouring down like hell, then dry, then rain again. We've always had some rain during the previous Paris Slalom World Cup events, but we've also had some extremely good wheather. With 4 days on hand I feel confident that we can achieve a good event.

That place can only be used when those shops are closed, thus on a Sunday, but it's a bit late to "save" us.Ramón Königshausen wrote:Last year some people were talking about a parking garage where we would have been able to go in case of rain...give us more information about that option please...

Overall points calculation
Announcement Paris Slalom World Cup - Overall results
This year we'll use the World Ranking points (for a main event) rather than the previous ISSA classification 25, 20, 17 that we've used so far at PSWC. The points obtained in each of the three disciplines Giant, Tight and Special will be added together to create an overall score.
- The best overall Pro skater will receive the "King of the hill" title, trophy and EUR 200. Pro number 2 and 3 will receive trophies.
- The top three overall Am skaters will receive trophies.
- The top three overall Female skaters will receive trophies.
If you don't participate in an event, a score equivalent to a DQ will be used instead. Thus non-participation is equal to participation with a DQ.
The awards ceremony for the overall prices will be held after the Nations Cup final on Sunday.

Paris!
With the great interest I am looking at the results in gigant slalom. Congratulation Chris Hart, Henrik Wadsten, Bettina Luginbuh!
This year I do not participate for some different reasons.
About entery fee I agree with Jadranko it is very important factor to participate or not . Especialy for slalomers from East European countries. At the moment there are still different incomes for peoples in west and east countries. (Looking for the better salary out of Latvia warking about 50 thousends people to Ireland.)
I have two boys who go to school (18, 16 years) and have an interest participate in Paris. For us it is to expensive to go to Paris. We are planing to go to Gruningen and Brixlegg. I do not know why there is no juniors group in Austria.
I think we need to popularize the slalom among the new generation.
To support juniors we have made a smaller entry fee for juniors group in Jurmala -20 euro + ice cream for me. Juniors – welcome to participate in European slalom championship in Jurmala and Sigulda!

Here's a couple of brief pro class comments "highlights of the day":
Janis Kuzmins qualifies faster than Luca in the first round, then Luca takes his place back again. Janis meets Chris Hart (15:th) in the first round and Chris wins.
Chris meets Paul Price and Paul wins.
Luca in once race has a reaction time of 0.003. That race could have differently.
Ramon meets Luca later and Luca and the final start signal can't be heard. Ramon goes ahead and Luca just stands still, what else could he do. After a few arguments we restart the race and they do one false start each.
...and many, many more really interesting meetings. This was one of the most exciting races I've been watching.
In the evening most skaters went to the bowl session, while the race site was cleaned up before 7000 (!) roller skaters arrived there at 23.00.
It's Saturday morning now. It's wet outside so we're not rushing to the race site, but it should clear up and get better in the day. Special slalom is on the program.

I hope you all enjoy the racing! Seems like it's close racing and I'm looking forward to see some results from today. I wonder how hard it would be to hook all this up to a database so that the results could be live...
As always when it's racing you never knows what's gonna happen. Janis qualifies second and looses to Chris that puts in two blistering runs, seems like Janis could have easialy made it to the finals but walks away with 9:th. Same with Heiko that is one of the VERY few to make it down trocadero under 10 seconds, in the head to head he has almost a second lead into the second run and DQ's...
I wish I could have made it there but that's how it is some times. Anyway's please keep us updated, and good luck too you all on the last day of racing!
