Post by Donald Campbell » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:30 pm

its all coming down to the last event in the row of 3
march the 5th in ESSEN on an abandoned parking lot with perfect surface, slightly descending, similar to paris.
ok
3rd race with extra schwag courtesy of PAVEL and CONCRETE WAVE

after the actual race the final(mistery) prize will be awarded to the winner of the combined race event.

this race is announced early enough,so when you read this and you missed out on the excitement yet-be at the third race, show some commitment.

the ranking so far based on a 100 point base from places 1-10
#1 steve hinzen 180 points
#2 christoph baumann/heiko schöller 170 points
#3 frank beste 120 points
#4 domink kowalski/vincent berruchon 90 points
#5 donald campbell/david rudnianski 80 points
#6 oliver otten 50 points
#7 alex luxat 30 points
#8 frank korte 20 points
#9 adrian hochart/holger kindler 10 points

homer, steve,or heiko are the hot contenders for a first place-very tight stuff in that section.
i'll try to come up with something surprising in the 3rd race for all who enter,so the action and suspense will be there.

ok we will make essen freaking hardcore.

this will be the only race which will be really tough for anybody who enters.
make it or take it.
we will do 50 cones on an ascending lane,6 foot, you will get f'n fast and after the first third you will have to go through the course by your reflexes.end speed will be really good...

maybe there will be a few more folks coming to the last race in the series.
most of the folks you listed, joe, are way too lazy to come.in some cases it's hard enough for those guys to go out in front of their own door.
whatever,i certainly hope that these folks feel challenged now and will appear to kick my ass.
when the dust settles you will see that PAVEL ruled once again.

G.O.G. represent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he donald,

first of all a big respect to you guys down there in ruhrpott/köln area for putting so much power and enthusiasm in the whole thing. even the frenchies are crazy travellers.

joe no worries, we are still alive. the other berliners and me are still in our internal trainigscamp prepearing for the second race of GREAT WESTERN RACE SERIES !!!!

i mean the dates for this race at the end of march are still not confirmed, but i heard RUMOURS about a hard race at the end of march. it looks like there is one car showing up at your local turf with marky, peter, starsky and me so be prepared for an "EASTERN THUNDERSTORM" ... may be a second car will also start from berlin, but its not confirmed by 100 %

please keep us updated about the dates for the race at the end of march !!!!!!!!

snow!

buhu! the weatherforecast anounces more snowfalls for the days to come, sunday included. We might rather go snowboarding, or do a death race in the factory bowl...

snow snow snow

mayb we'll cancel sunday,at the moment it seems as if we are covered in a snowglobe.
but....
maybe we should do a snowboard race next time also.
we do have an indoor snowpark nearby.
i am seriously considering doing a slalom snowboard race.
it would be fun for all
how about combining that with the next event?
if you don't have the appropriate stuff everything cn be rented on spot.

let's think about that too,ok?

Yes, sounds really great! (Sorry for you David! But I think you'll be alright ;)
although your missing us so much...LOL)

What news!!!
The slalomsnowboarder community is growing dramaticly!!!!
(from none to 3)
That means: Count me in!!

On the other Hand it will be very hard to set up a good timing system and to filter out the white cones from the white ground,
so I guess it will be only for the fun...oh, damn it!!
Hiting the cold coping until it will get hot could increase the global temperature a bit, maybe?
Anyway. What about the spot under the two bridges Mr. Pingel was talking about?
Any chance to move the race overthere?

What about the secret cellar under the factory bowl (ups, was it really a secret?) there it could be easily combined with the pool death race since we would be at the same spot?
Any other suggestions? Other spots? Tunnels? movable cellings? manipulating weatherforecast goodies? Snowblocker? 3dm snowwheels? knowlledge of Cloudish?
Do we still own some land in Africa? Any other part of the world where we could call it ours? Damn it! Any other ideas?

Yup Don, the weather calls for snowboarding activities right now. Last Sunday I went out with my kids to the 'Rhön mountain' for a snowboarding session. 1m of snow!!! right now.
I am just doing some cross training to get back in shape....I don't fear the cold temps, it's just a bit too slippery.
And: I am waiting for my new ride......Don, you know what I am talking 'bout.

See you in April!!!

G.O.G. will be cancelled for this weekend.
reason is the bad weather.
the forecast is just saw on tv gives us heavy snowfalls and storms.
the essen spot is till covered with snow and even düsseldorf/oberkassel has remnants of snow on the tracks.

so we call it a weekend and wait for the coming weekend then,to see what's up.

do i have your address yoyo?

i have 740 grams ultralite G.O.G. power waiting to be shipped.

all things come to a good ending:
today we had the final installment of the triple crown race series with some sunny weather.
the people who attended were rewarded with a nice course that offered lots of cones to be kicked out.
the course was a straight 6foot course on a descending road in essen,it was not a straight line,we made it a bit like a snakerun and it was fun for each and everybody.course length was 44 cones, dual racing, head to head modus.
best raw time of today's race has been delivered by heiko:9,84 secs
i didn't race today, since i discolated a disc in my lower back last week in our bowl, only a few more days and then i can skate again.

here a re the results:

#1 christoph baumann 9,97
#2 heiko schöller 10,25
#3 steve hinzen 10,50
#4 dominik kowalski 10,88

those results above are from the cut to 4 final races so don't get confused with the other results following
#5 frank beste 10,72
#6 manfred koffinke 11,61
#7 max möhlmann 11,73
#8 holger kindler 12,04

the final ranking of the G.O.G. event:
#1 christoph baumann 270 points
#2 steve hinzen,heiko schöller 260 points
#3 frank beste 180 points
#4 dominik kowalski 160 points
#5 vincent berruchon 90 points
#6 donald campbell,david rudnianski 80 points
#7 oliver otten, 50points
#8 manfred koffinke 40 points
#9 alex luxat,max möhlmann,holger kindler 30 points
#10 frank korte 20 points

thanks for visiting and participating to the cologne crew.
good day good race good vibes

We had no driver this time, Fred was occupied by testing gift from his new slalom sponsor.

Were you afraid to lose some top spots to organize your race the same day than a Pirate race ?
;)

For your information the final (and 7th) Pirate Race will be held on sunday April, 30th

Sorry Vinzzz, we would have loved to see you guys here. We tried but we couldn't find another date for our race. Next time there will be no more overlap with a french race so you guys can come to us again or we to you.

Btw. we are thinking about sending the Gang of Germany to your next race end of April. Will it be a giant?

It should be a huge giant slalom in Paris' suburb. But we must check the spot before, because it use to be a " speedboard" spot, so it could be very fast.... But I got something else in my mind... Vinzzz, should we check Noisiel ? ;) ... Guys, do you remember the special spot that I show you on video ?

The last pirate race will be a giant yes, but I would prefer we plan session to Noisiel (that is not so close!) or in some other spot on saturday instead of Sunday. The race can last a bit long and as the final race it will be time to celebrate end of the "counter-season" and beginning of the real season!

Racing in Noisiel will be better on a sunday, the parking will be clear. The problem is that in this season the spot is a little bit messy: mud and water. I like it when it's like that, because you have to anticipate puddle pools. A very Trashy style ;) But in one month it should be ok.
On the upper part of the spot, there is a small parking with banks all around, then you have to drop in the snake. quite fun ;)
