Damn it................... I'm starting to get that sad empty feeling in my gut. I think I'll hit Vans this weekend to pay some last respects.

Dvae, let me know. I will try to meet you there on Saturday. I was hoping to skate arlington if it is dry. But a farwell session at Vans would be cool.

I just talked to Chris of Green Skate Lab.

He says that Jaime's rumors of Vans closing in November are bogus. It will be closing Dec. 31st as originally scheduled.

Is this an appropriate response forum, Vlad?

yeah.... i was at vans today and they're closing on Dec. 31st. sorry i missed the slalom bros, i hit up around 10-2 with Q and Bertleboy, fun times, but the park was so overrun with groms, i forgot how it can get at times, i've been rattling Arlington's tile too long.

so i guess we can still plan a jam before closes huh?

@ john, i wish i could make Downer, but lack of transportation will probably prevent me from doing so, that and a slightly swollen ankle from van's damn slick @ss pool. i need soft cambrias or something for that thing!

I think most of that slickness is just dust/dirt...

Sorry to have missed you guys who did the afternoon shift.

I ended up skating with Brian and WesE starting at the 4pm session. Yep they are planning on closing 12-31-04 as previously decided. Guess it was a bad rumor about the earlier closing date that caught many people including Seth.

Sure will miss the Vans banks, bowl, and right-hand kidney but damn it was crowded today (avg. age was 12, too many inliners, and runaway boards landing in the pool).

Looking to still do a banked slalom outlaw race possibly the evening of 12/4. Also there might be a mid week day session in the works to skate the place empty, basically an "Adult Swim" session. More info. to follow.
