I'm pleased to announce that effective tomorrow (January 7), Dan Gesmer of Seismic has assumed ownership of the 3dm Sport skateboard and wheel business. Seismic and 3dm have demonstrated unmatched innovation, performance, and commitment to this sport, and there's no better choice than Dan to continue in this tradition. So you can expect continued availability of the Avalon, Avila and Cambria wheels, 3dm/Bahne Banshee decks, cones, etc, integrated with the Seismic product line and numerous innovations yet to come.

While I'm quite optimistic about growth possibilities for this sport, especially in the global markets, it's become increasingly difficult for me to divide attention between two different businesses, and I need to devote full attention and resources to Surveyor Corp. In any case, the Gordon clan look forward to a continued involvement with slalom, as there are two junior World Championship titles to defend *again* this season, and we hope to attend a couple of races in Europe this summer plus whatever we can attend stateside.

Please join me in congratulating Dan on this acquisition, and wish him the best with his growing business.

Howard

Seismic purchases 3dm

Post by Daniel Gesmer » Wed Jan 07, 2004 4:53 am

In the mid-1990s, Seismic manufactured a 66mm 78A cruising wheel called the Richter 7.1. We developed these as part of a plan to market complete, ready-to-roll racing boards, in collaboration with legendary deck maker Bob Turner. The original plan was a bit ahead of its time, but through 1996 we sold several thousand wheels, mainly in Europe.

Since that time Seismic has concentrated exclusively on truck engineering, manufacturing and marketing. But we are extremely proud at this time to inherit 3dm’s legacy of quality and integrity in design, manufacturing and marketing of wheels and decks.

The industry will sorely miss Howard Gordon’s presence and commitment. But it is Seismic’s ambition to steward his legacy with the utmost respect, and to continue 3dm’s tradition of cutting-edge design and performance.

Please join me in wishing Howard every success in his latest venture in the tech sector. Regarding the 3dm product line, please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or comments. Pre-existing 3dm customers, stay tuned for further communications.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah...I'm sitting here with my mouth wide open. This must be the biggest slalom skateboard surprise of the year. And it comes early.

Congratulations Dan and good luck.

Wow, that seems like a monopoly coming about here..........one of the best trucks, the best wheels and the best computer slalom race bracket sheets all in one hand....no way! Is this legal?

No honestly, Howard I think you could not have made a better choice.
See you soon, and good luck Dan, thanks for supplying us with wheels in the future.

Awesome! This is so great for Seismic's future as well as the future of 3dm. and what a surprise! I smell some interesting complete setup options for 2k4.

Could this mean there might be a split axel Seismic truck, like the 3TC? how cool would that be?

Wow, what a deal! Congratulations Dan! Now we understand why you've been talking so much about urethane lately...

Howard, thank's for your efforts in helping this sport. We'll surely miss you as a manufacturer but please make sure we'll see you and the whole family as much as previously on the events.

Dan, your brand will be one of, or maybe THE, major brand in this market. I'm looking forward to work with you even more.

As for the sport of slalom this will hopefully spark a new wave of technological innovations, once the deal has settled in.

Once again, congratulations Dan & Thanks Howard!

Wow! is right.
Thanks Howard for all you've done for Josh and I. You've been a real friend. Hope to see you and the family soon. Europe?

Dan has also been a big help to us in the area of his timming spreadsheet which we used at the LSJ 2003.

Congratulations to you both. Our wheels are in good hands. Got to get those molds changed again to read Richter 62, 68, 75?
