Visiting Köln (a few days during first 2 weeks July 07)

Post by Hans Lucas » Fri Jun 08, 2007 1:24 pm

Hi,
I'm planning to visit Köln sometime (maybe 2 days) during the first 2 weeks of July.

Are there any slalom skaters interested in a modest slalom jam (TS, HS, GS) at the Decksteiner Weiher (near the Gleueler Str.)?
I can't bring any cones.

I suggest I visit the Decksteiner spot in Köln on June 30 (at about 3 pm) and July 1 (at about 12 pm) but I could stay more days.

Pls let me know before Saturday, June 16, 2007 so I can buy the train tickets in time!

Antworten im Deutsch ist auch OK.

OK, thx. Can you please let me know where this new spot is? A street name will do fine.

Also, I'm working hard to process all slalom (and some freestyle) video material from Paris and Hannover, including Stephan, Carsten, Holger and Dominik. Maybe the DVD will be ready in July...

Oh, and let me gratulate you on your 1st and 3rd places at the Amsterdam contest!

Since there's hardly any feedback on this subject and I don't know the slalom training spot, I'm cancelling my trip to Cologne this year.

Maybe next year.

A red carpet would be nice ;) . But just a street name will do fine. And since I don't have cones (yet), someone to skate with who has cones, would be perfect.

You don't need to plan your skate sessions that far in advance, especially in the hot bed of slalom activity like Köln. I mean every couple of years I just show up at Heiko, Don or Dominiks door step and we always manage to have a good time. They are really good guys, if you can keep up- even those Amateurs Holger, Frank and Rotten Olliver Otten are cooking. If you guys stay Amatuer I want a rematch next year! hehe.

I just hope they still like me even though I don't ride boards made in Köln anymore, oooops.

Hans, it is exactly like Karl described it.

Those who want to race with us, always find a way to do so. Karl does. Ramon does. Flavio does. Jon does. Bart does. And many others do....

We are NOT organized. We don't race on a regular basis.
And we don't want to be ORGANIZED. We don't need to be.

It just HAPPENS, somewhere, sometimes.....
We are G.o.G.!

Oh boy, I should have gone to Gothenborg this weekend instead of sitting in the office right now and posting stuff like this ...answering to keyboard-racers I don't even know...

But then again, there might be another session with the GoG-mates on Sunday night... somewhere... maybe......

The berlin guys have the most killer practice spot right on the river next to the Autobahn, close to the bridge.

I had to switch up to much harder wheels cause the pavement is so smooth.

Thanks guys for the good time- great session and some good beer!!

When your in the states lemme know.

thanks for the info and sorry for wasting your time.
I have to book my train tickets in time; I won't just "go and figure it out", sorry.

If there's gonna be a contest in Cologne, I'll try to be there!

(so now I have more time to work on my PSWC/Hannover DVD)

Sorry Hans I´m not that often online here...so I forgot to post the street etc. I thought you just come and say 2 days before hello and then we can set something up no problem....

In cologne we have about 20 people doing serious slalom so you have some guys to skate with...

Don't worry; CU next year, or maybe at a Pirate slalom in Paris.
Soon I should have my own cones, so it's easier for me to go and just skate.

I know the best German slalom skaters live in Cologne if I look at the world ranking (no discussion pls!).

I also know where your shop is located, thanks to http://maps.google.de.
