Well, I think you can also do 150, at any place....if 24 1/2 is the most spins shown at a contest it really doesn't matter what else you do on a parking lot, oi?!

Maybe, 24 is not the most you have ever seen, but he did the most on that day, so....

GO YOYO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best regards, and congratulation!!!!!

Congradulation to YOYO !!

... you are right Dominik.
In 1976/7 Michael Bergis did 40+ 360°, but not during a contest, because we did not have freestyle contests in these early days in germany, as far as I remember...
not sure but Russ Howell have had his world record at aprox. 36 or so in this time...

Cfav was not out to upstage Yo Yo. Yo Yo won a sanctioned contest with 24.5 and that's quite cool. I tip my cap to Richy though as he holds the Guinness world record at 142.

Now that'll make yer head spin.

Thanks Chris for posting this even on a Slalom Forum........

Ok folks, we are talking about a painted concrete expo hall floor, so no steel wheels to get higher numbers.
Yes, it was an official event and I am fully aware that Richy is the 360° king, but he was not there this time.
It was very FUN to session and spin with him at the Brixlegg Slalom World Champs just a week before.
Three week ends with contests is quite hectic, so I am out now with my family to Holland.

i thought of the many ways i could try to post without pissing anyone off,but i cant.
first to YOYO,if my post insulted you,i apologise.all i was trying to do was piggy back on to marty and recall a late nite parking lot session with a lot of beers involved that blew our minds.
to anyone named dominic who commented, you may think you are,but you are not and probably never will be.the general pavel vibe on this board, and this applies from the top down is unappreciated and reminiscent of"those two wild and crazy guys".flame all you want,i could care less.
hate on,cfav

Wow, I just wanted to congrat a friend, it was slalom related because Yoyo is a great slalomer too. And he can even do inverts on transitions. So I´ll even call him great allround skateboarder.
And now guys are hating.......nononono, this is not what I intended.

He won the 360 comp at a World Champ.
So he is World Champ 2006 at 360s.

If the 20 or so racers who came before me weren´t in Brixlegg last week, I would have been World Special Champ. Even if they are faster than me.

so be it.

mr.favero

which vibe is that you are referring to?

dominik is a team member and a good friend.he is as he is and that is good so.
he also knows that he has his mistakes and often apologizes for emotional outbursts or mistakes he made-that puts him above a lot of folks i know.
dominik has no heroes he follows-so he is the real mccoy in his age-group.
and he is part of the future in racing,if you don't like that part of the future,well..that's your very own problem.you can be sure that he has the whole team behind him in any way you want it.just to make sure that you are not only messing with him right now.

from reading the above posts i can a:understand that your post could be easily misinterpreted the way it's written(it's also easy to come with an excuse later on,when the fire is burning, let's not forget that) b:see no offensive stuff in dominiks post either.

concluding this sad thread i want to say that yoyo has earned the title and even richy would give him props for winning,so why do you have to chime in?

so what is it that makes you react the way you do.
care to explain?

feel free to pm me on that subject so that we leave the hate out of this thread.

My congrats go out to both Yoyo (at his all-round performs at contests as well as during freestyle sessions and 360's) and to Richy (who does amazing stuff, including nosewheelie 360's and other fun stuff while doing nosewheelie 360's).

Both guys turn heads wherever they go and leave spectators in great confusion about what they just saw!

But there is one topic to discuss (maybe in another forum topic), namely: what to do with excellent skaters who do not have the time/ability to join every contest?
Even the slalom "World ranking" has its downsides when you consider "being there" is what also counts, despite how good you really are.
Like, Giammarco ranked 1 place lower after the PSWC because he didn't join. But after Hannover he ranked again 1st -as far as I know-.

I suggest to develope some kind of ranking (for now only in speed record, slalom, 360's, high jump and barrel jump), which is based on the result and not on the presence at contests.
I mean some kind of "record" ranking calculated with formulas, like:
-ranking for 360's, high jump and barrel jump: the highest score counts and places the skater higher or lower on the world ranking list, compared to others who didn't join the contest.

-slalom ranking (e.g.): =totally raced runs x cones missed / time x cone distance (just to give an idea). This could be calculated quickly, using database/Excel tools.

It's like in baseball or in golf, where persons have "personal scores" or "handicaps" based on previous results and which can be compared to other sporters.
Why not develope something alike in slalom?

And let's never forget that Concrete Wave advice: "It's all about FUN!"
Loosing the fun would make things pointless; why even bother to skate?
(BTW: have you ever seen how happy some skaters look while doing their stuff???)
