Slalom and skateboarding jam session in Berlin

Post by Daniel Poweleit » Tue Aug 17, 2004 10:35 pm

This weekend we had a real great skateboard session with some german slalomers. But it is not only slalom these guys are able to do.

Saturday Slalom

real smooth surface, no incline
Course: 50 cones in straight line, 1,8 meter distance (middle of cone to middle of cone),
starting ramp: 1,3 meter high, measured distance 100 meters.
Best time 14:20 seconds by Markus Tommerer (Berlin).

Saturday Skatepark Mellowpark
Sunday Downhill Cruisin
Sunday Concrete Pool
Sunday Channel

Berliner skaters?

Post by Vincent Berruchon » Wed Nov 10, 2004 3:43 pm

Hallo Berlin!

I should come a few times in Berlin during next months (my girlfriend will be in Berlin most of the time for a few months... )

Is there regular sessions of slalom, DH or bowl/ramp riding?
And what about skateshops?
Are there shops to find good pool/ramp boards for example?

I come by plane so really don't know if I will take a board with me soon and you guess I didn't come in Berlin to skate...
but if I can, I'd like to skate there at least one time!

Give me hints ;)

Hello Vincent!

Yes there are some kind of regular slalom sessions in Berlin. Some guys try to make it regular. Especially for me its hard to meet that sessions.
Bowl and Ramp riding is possible too in this cold season. The same guys go to a hall with a little skatepark in it nearby Berlin.

And there are several skateshops in the city of Berlin where you can sneak around for some new stuff.

Please tell us when you will be in Berlin. We will try to make a meeting possible.

Daniel

I think it will be possible. In which area is your spot?

... but... perhaps could we find something else to eat?
(sorry but we avoid as much as we can to eat McMultinational foods, any turkish, bratwurst, chinese or what ever you want?)

I hope to skate in Berlin soon. I've been just a few days and it seems to be a great city!

Thanks Heiko for the proposition
The site is nice... so few skateshops have something else than street boards nowadays!!
In fact I'm not sure for the moment which size I should take (but the Hosoi and the DeathBox pineapple seems great)... but it could be a solution

I'm arriving in Berlin friday evening
In fact my girfriend is moving this week end from Tierpark (Friedrichfelde area I think) to Prenzlauerberg .. so we will be in Tierpark in the beginning and perhaps in Prenzlauerberg if everything is OK.

So these few days will be short and I don't know if I will be able to take a board with me (I suppose were talking about slalom board?? but if it's not a reason not to see you!)
When do you skate?
and how can I contact you? I probably won't have internet how I want...

You can send me email here: vinzzz[ONE@]noos[ONEDOT]fr
(... this address is available only until December!)
You can also send SMS messages on my cell phone:
(00-33) 6 60 75 17 32
(I think I can't call or receive calls when I'm in Germany)

Tschuss ;)

Ok
I won't take a board with me this time. If a skateboard was allowed in cabine I would take it but it's not :(

The big problem now is the weather.. the forecast is not good :(
The other little problem is that she should receive a mattress at something like 16:30 on Sunday afternoon... but perhaps she don't need me for that if she can find us just a bit later

(If the weather is bad-or not- a ramp session would have been great too... but I'm quite a beginner, it's not a BIG ramp???)

We stay in touch ;)

no problem lets stay in touch - daniel, peter and maybe some others have a date for sunday slalom if the weather is ok - so we will see ....

Berlin rocks!

Post by Vincent Berruchon » Tue Nov 30, 2004 7:44 pm

This sunday session was great...
Me and Amandine had both enjoyed meeting you and it was really nice to skate on your local spot: the ICC skate gang in action, yeeaaahhh!!! ;)

It's really enjoyable to discover part of a city with local skaters!

Sven and Peter: So sorry to leave you quite early.. but you were right, we were just on time (or I should say in fact not too late, just as it should be)
but we missed the best Curry Wurst in Berlin and it would have been great to talk a little more but next time it think it will be easier.

I've quickly put our photos online, you can get it there:
http://www.wistiti.fr/Albums/Inscriptio ... k8@free.fr
of course ask me if you want better quality files (but you can have most of them in the original definition by clickin on it 2 times - I'll also try to make a little "report" somewhere else but perhaps it will take long time... I've got one year of skate reports)

Thank you to all of you for this session
and special thanks to Sven for the board, the drive, phone calls and everything...

Keep on riding!

...nothing more to say except from missing the one and only "currywurst" - no problem but believe me vincent this place got skateboarding history since around 25 years ....

cheers - you were ripping historical ground !!!!
