i'm a newbie to slalom and i need a slalom ride. after getting a lot of advice on what would work for me (thanks glenn), if anyone has any or all of the following, i'd be grateful and show my appreciation with a bank check:
- fibreflex deck
- tracker rt/s rt/x
- avalons
- abec 3 bearings

Casey, I don't have any of that . What I do have will work at least as well though. Supaflex Slalom deck Aluminum sandwich construction, Indy 101's wedged, Red Bones and C 62's ... Since youre a friend of glens. 175.00 shipped

Casey, I can offer you:
Fibreflex 3-ply Response, ridden and dented nose, but still good as new perfomance-wise for $40 including Priority Mail shipping.
Or as a complete, with Stingers in your choice of duros of 77a, 81a, 84a, or 88a, PT abec-3 shielded bearings, wedges of your choice, and brand new 100mm G-Trucks with soft/responsive bushings for $90 including Priority Mail shipping.
Note: This deck is only for riders 140 lbs or less.
Discuss it with Glenn and see what he thinks.

I suggested to Casey that he try and round up a used Freerider because it is a great deck with a full outline with not too long of a wheelbase. He said he was looking for a good pumping machine not just for slalom. With the full outline he does not have to deal with getting used to a cut-away tail is my feeling.

Other decks that I had recommended were the Comet Don O'Shei or the Bahne Blackhill or Fibreflex GS/Lite. All of these have a cut-away tail but are great deals.

RTX/S and Avalon's 85a front and 80a back; well my feeling is that they are "The" setup these days.

And I told him to get a few sets of sealed Abec 3's from PT bearings, to rotate out and clean. I don't think you'll find a better deal than these bearings.

Hey if you've got any other feelings on this for Casey chime in.

He also told me he wanted to keep things under $100, so I told him it might be best to ask for used gear in good shape.

with the fibreflex attila response model, could a bigger guy ride it (not for slalom), for cruising?

Definitely go for Terry's set up

I rode that exact board in the French championships in 1995 and posted one of the fastest times in the tight slalom on that particular board- got second Luca got first.

TK had that for sale in 2003.
