US Nationals at Oceanside-4th Annual-ISSA Major Event
PLUS the 2nd Viva La Costa Reunion
(Friday/Saturday/Sunday) July 18-20, 2014
Come race at the most important racing event in North America and hang out with the legends of La Costa - all in one weekend!
The La Costa Open was first held in 1975 and is the longest running skateboard race in the world. Continuing the La Costa Open legacy - the 2014 US National Championships will take place July 18-20 in San Diego County, California. Presented by La Costa Boys and So Cal Racing - the event will be sanctioned by the ISSA (International Slalom Skateboard Assoc) with a Major status official world ranking - making this the most important event in North America this season! As an added bonus - we are sharing the calendar with the 2nd Viva La Costa Reunion!
The event is expected to draw top racers from the USA, Canada and Europe - including past and present World Champions - to compete in an exciting head-to-head format in hybrid, a highly technical tight slalom, and a 40 mph giant slalom throughout the weekend.
Plan to come for a long weekend of fun and epic racing in sunny So Cal.

Classes:
Pro, Am/Open, Masters, Junior/Kids
Racer Entry Fee:
Pro, Am/Open & Masters - $100 Weekend / (both days) or $50 one day only; $25 Junior for weekend ($15 one day only); kids free (Juniors are defined as aged 12 to 17 and Kids are 11 and under). Juniors and Kids classes MUST have parent or guardian present to participate/sign waiver. RACERS - PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW NOW AND PAY YOUR FEE EARLY ($100 thru July 1 - $125 after)

Safety Gear and Release/Waiver:
Helmets are mandatory for all racers/all classes and safety gear (knee/elbow pads & full finger gloves strongly recommended). Each racer will be required to sign a waiver/release to gain access to the race course. Minors (under 18 years of age) must have parent or legal guardian present to sign waiver/release in order to participate.

Shirts will be available for pre-order and on-site purchase. Paid racer entry includes one t-shirt.

Motel 6 is one mile from the Saturday night party location and only 15 mins from our Loretta Street race site. We have a block of rooms under "US Nationals" group reference number "M102100339" -- mention when calling in to make your reservation by June 17, 2014. AARP members only can reserve online for special discount.
Airport Info:
The two closest airports are:
SAN - San Diego (40 minute drive north to Oceanside race venue) or
SNA - Orange County (40 minute drive south to Oceanside race venue).
There is a third airport, Long Beach (LGB) about 20 mins north of OC/SNA and still further north, LAX (Los Angeles) is about a two hour drive to Oceanside. Southwest Airlines serves all four airports and offers two free bags -- great when you are hauling skate gear.

Exit I-5 54C Harbor Drive. Go to light and turn left. Go under freeway and continue to next light. Take a right on San Rafeal Dr. and proceed 2 blocks to Capistrano Dr. Turn left for 3/4 of a winding mile to Santa Anita Dr. Turn Right and look for parking in residential area -- please be courteous to the local residents.
Coming from South(Traveling North)
1st exit after passing 76 not to be confused with 78. Exit I-5 54B. Take immediate right Capistrano Dr. for 3/4 of a winding mile to Santa Anita Dr. Turn Right and look for parking in residential area -- please be courteous to the local residents.
