66. Thanks for noticing my high res error. I'm quite sure I would've been reprimanded on the other site. Thanks also for your pic that made it's way into todays paper today. See ya tomorrow.

I'm bunking in Jersey with my cousin Friday night, see you Saturday morning.

There's a limit on racers, does that extend to spectators or can I bring an entourage (<img src="http://www.combe.com/images/products/lo ... .gif">Aqua Velva Racing)?

I just found a set of vintage AZF German speed bearings. Perfectly aged for the vintage race...nothing a little restoration won't hurt.

Tracker Fulls with wornout small pivots.

Vintage Turner fullnose + flyaway helmet

If only I had my NIKE hightops, Kip freestyle paws, and Hallman kneepads.

Diabolical

So whadda 'ya gonna do, Gilmour, just grind down the hill on naked hangars with bearings hanging off the axles?

MOST of us intend to use WHEELS with our vintage setups. You should consider it

Oh, just for those of you who haven't been able to sleep this week wondering what I'm riding: 29" SC Henry Hester H-Bomb, Indy 109s, Park Rider Logan 5s. Not only is this vintage August 1979, it's a vintage COMPLETE. This board was shipped direct from NHS with a cost of $105.00 including shipping. Don't forget: this board is GRAPHITE LOADED. Talk about your state of the art!

Ah, the good ol' days.

We may do 2 groups, a RICH BOY GROUP: Turners, SC graphites, Fibre Flex's etc
and PO Boys group: GT, NEwporter, Free Former, Nash , Ampule, etc... Opinions?

Well, based on the ncdsa.com contest calendar, it's good to see that Wes is the "new" face of vintage skateboarding, graphite loaded and all.

my driving directions (mapquest) say it's an hour and fourteen minutes from the newark airport - does that sound right?

the only thing more ridiculous than me driving a rental car in the nyc metro area is the thought of wesley's camaro rolling down those same highways

That sounds about right. Right now the weather looks like it will be best early Sat.am so we will do our best to get the race started early. (Practice 8am) If we wake up and it's raining...we give thanks a praises to the Sun Gods.

Yo 66!
That's correct providing there's no traffic tie-up like someone trying to jump off the Geo wash Bridge, road work, pot-hole filling, or dumb-driver crashes....on beautiful days I've been tied up for hours on I95 due to stupid driver error crashes...now I often avoid those areas but when it's clear, it's smooth sailing......here's to smooth sailing for all those travelling this week/wknd to slalom events everywhere....c ya soon...I'm outta here soon heading north. Q: Does Wesley Tucker drive parallel-style too? C ya soon Parallel-man!!

Once again, 'Da farm was an awesome experience!
Once again, the Hays' party was the best.

Once again, we had to ride between the rains!!

Thanks to all who helped out, I won't list names for fear of missing someone. I'll leave that to Tway...or someone with a better memory!

damn, we are some scary people.

thanks to all for the hospitality. i spent a good part of saturday recovering from my rock and roll hangover and watching some great racing.

tway and tk - you two threw one of the best events i have attended. looking forward to actually racing next year.

make sure to ask rob the canadian what happens to a bozi MB2 and avilas when run over by a pimped out Camry on the westside highway during our nyc skate yesterday.

cheers!

You know what gripes me? It's not travelling 1000 miles to a skateboard race only to see rain. No, that doesn't gripe me. What gripes me is travelling 1000 miles to a skateboard race that is disrupted by rain AND THEN then NEXT DAY the weather is something that would make a Bahamian envious: blue skies, temps in the 70s with not a trace of humidity.

That really gripes me.

I see looking at the national weather map that Pound Ridge/Vista had rain Sunday, rain yesterday and today the whole area is under a flood watch until Midnight.

Hey, I feel pretty good knowing we actually got to race for a change BEFORE things got worse!

I know, though, this is really upsetting Tway. He has to delay his "beat WesE" training regimen he wanted to kick off this week.

You got that right Wesley. I will be out of retirement for Farm 4.0 and despite no sleep and a hangover, I will beat WesE. On a side note: If anyone was in bare feet or in sandals at the Hays party, chances are real good you have chigger bites all over your feet and ankles. They itch for about 2 days then fade away over the next 2 weeks. The good news is <b>you don't have poison ivy.</b>

For info on Chiggers:

Da FArm...Thanks for all the kind words. Tway and I were sweating it Sat morning when it was raining. Same as last year and the year before that. But like always the Gods smiled on us and we raced.
We had the top timer in the east Yvonne Gamble and her appretice Kate Iacovelli who ran 3 races with no errors.
We had the utmost cooperation from all the racers who lined up and raced ,sometimes with only one practice run and never bitched.
We had family members who cone marshalled and held babies and brought drinks and smiled all day. And Cheered.
We had a killer party and awards ceramony and food and beer.
We raised a good chunk of change for Lowes .

Da Farm , No attitudes, Fast courses, One hell of a party.

Thanks to all who came. TK

Without sounding too much like a groupie I must say Gilmour was amazing at Da Farm. Sure he flaked on the vintage race but if he didnt he wouldnt be gilmour no? His TS run on a brand new deck was sick. 1 second faster than the field on a 10 sec course. I hope JG goes to the worlds this year ,I would love to see him head to head with Luca.

TS RESULTS

A Pro
1) John Gilmour 9.790 (18.25 wheelbase Roe Bottle rocket)
2) Michael Dong 10.721 (Roe Bullet? 19 inch?WB)
3) Keith Hollien 11.037 (Sub 18 wheelbase 4sure)
4) TK 11.184 (21.34 wb Roe Fulltail-versatile!)
5) Nature Boy 11.248 (defintely not a sub 20 wheelbase)
6) Troy Smart 11.261 (sub 19 inch wheelbase PP Stealth- way to go Troy- killing it! In good Ts company, SCHMART SMART!
-get smart)
7) Noah Heinle 11.333 (?)(Fullnose?)
8 ) Mark McCree 11.824 (definitely a shorty)
9) Mike Ohm 11.843 (?)
10) UR13 11.992 (PlankkR short WB)

This years TS was a bit of a quandry. The gates were loose enough to run a GS wheelbase, but the course was very fast.....but also very short. It was a sub 10 second course. Heavily start dependent- what were those reaction times?

We used reaction times (cuz it was new feature)...but for this short of a race I think it is a little too heavy to weight. If the course were 30 seconds long- well the race wouldn't be as start dependent. Still fun to see them...what are they?

The question was....in ten seconds....how fast could you go? If you couldn't "top out" a GS deck through that spacing the longer WB might be the way to go- but short decks accelerate faster-way faster at the top, and acceleration was at a premium on a short course.

If you got going so fast on a GS deck that you couldn't "stuff" the deck through the tight gates and had to stop pumping...no good.

If you got going fast enough the looser gates began to act like tighter gates. In this case the Shorter Wheelbase decks had an advantage...only if you could get there quick before the short course was over.

I had a high cone DQ my first qualification run- so my idea of using one deck in one run and one in another in qualifiying- (to determine which was faster- as we would not see race times) was moot....but I felt after my safety run- the TS deck was the way to go.

Terence likely would have shaved at least .75 seconds on a TS set up. But he ran the Roe fulltail- to showcase its versatility. (that deck can run almost anything)

If the course had been slower on less pitch....a longer WB cruiser would have been the call.

But the farm is DA farm with true Fast TS and still it is one of the few races where a TS deck is really a good choice. Da farm- where true TS lives.
