Front Royal Downhill Challenge 30 November 2002

Event Fees:
Slalom $50
1st Downhill Sport $60
Additional Sports $30 each
Late Fee additional $25
GSI Membership: single event $25, annual membership $75

Early registration makes life easier and means we get on the road sooner, but must be received by 22 November

Other than the fact that there was no way to publicly see who or how many were planning to go, the only thing standing in the way of the slalom race that would've been, was the lack of space to have a decent course. The weather was fine for the first half of the day, for the people that got there at 8am.

I think that the best way we can merge a slalom event with the downhill events like this would be to have a pre-marked course on the main hill, and quickly set cones and run it during the downhiller's downtime. This worked for the slalomers at the Red Bull Big Air streetluge-jump competition this year.

Nice picture Vlad, or what I really meant was good style, Vlad!

That's about as good as it gets!



(I'd be curious to find out if those cones fell in the end. I'd say the first one did, but the second, although close, stayed up).



It's a pity we didn't race when we met last time!
