[2006] St. Louis 2006 accommodation

Post by Wesley Tucker » Tue May 16, 2006 8:11 pm

I just Pricelined my room for St. Louis. I bid $50 for downtown in a 3-Star hotel and it was accepted. What I figure is the Cards are on the road in San Diego that weekend and the hotels need money. This place is right downtown and just a couple of blocks from Busch Stadium and The Arch.

Check-In Date: Friday, May 26, 2006
Check-Out Date: Monday, May 29, 2006
Priceline Customer Service Number: 1-800-657-9168
Hotel Name:
Hilton St. Louis At The Ballpark
One South Broadway
Saint Louis, Missouri 63102
314-421-1776

Summary of Charges

Your Offer Price: $50.00
Number of Rooms: 1
Number of Nights: 3
Subtotal: $150.00
Taxes and Service Fees: $31.41
Total Charges: $181.41

If anyone else wants a deal like this, better hurry. I've learned that the closer you get to your arrival date before placing a bid the less likely they are to accept it. As the hotel fills up, they become less desperate for customers.

Oh, and don't forget (because I haven't): a downtown hotel like this usually charges for parking. That's one other expense to factor.

Clang Clang Clang went the trolley . . . ding ding ding went the bell!

Ricky,

All I did was click "1 Adult" (hey, give me the benefit of some doubt!) Then after I got my confirmation number I called the Hotel to make sure I could get a smoking room. While I was on the phone with the clerk I was offered the option of two doubles or one King. I naturally took the king.

Also, the clerk told me it was a "preference" and I had a 99% chance of getting what I wanted, but there was no absolute guarantee. Of course, travelling alond it's not an issue for me.

Hope this helps.
