Its German name, Moldau, is also used.
The river is crossed by 18 bridges. Downstream from South to North the bridges are: Závodu míru, Branický, Barrandovský, Železniční, Palackého, Jiráskův, Legií, Karlův, Mánesův, Čechův, Štefánikův, Hlávkův, Negrelliho viadukt, Libeňský, Holešovický železniční, Barikádníků, Holešovický tramvajový, Trojská lávka.
UNESCO site: in 1992, the historic center of Prague was added on the UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage List. Almost 2000 buildings are inscribed on the National Register of Prague Intangible Cultural Monuments, among which 1440 are located within the conservation area. The major ones were classified as National Cultural Monuments.
