It would be great if someone from the organizers can post details here. What kind of course? Is there a board length mandatory?

Parallelslalom in Munich/Theresienwiese on the hill to the famous bavaria....
Time: 27.04.2003

11:00 - ca. 18:00 after this time we get some fine munich beers!

timetable:

11:00 Entry
11:30 Training
12:30 Quarters
16:30 Finals
18:00 End

8% think it would be fast!
startbox from airflow skateboards knowing from the event in kreuzlingen. cones up to 2-2,5 depending on the speed with the startbox

I'm thinking about it, but would like more information.

- Are "short" slalom boards allowed?
- Is the hill 8% steep? Isn't that a lot?
- How long is the road / course?
- Is it dual racing?
- What kind of timing equipment do you use?
- Is there a list of participants so far?
- Are there many locals in Munich?
- or are you expecting also Swiss skaters?
- Any hope of other nations participating?

... The more info you give us, the more tempted we'll be to come...

As far as I know Chris Hart is sending two ramps (Tunnel race).

To my mind longboards start at 36'', may be a PPS Super-G fits the 'ISSA' rules, too.

Hoping that we here more about that race, because a UK race is on - same day ....

FRom some info in http://www.longboardmag.de I read that there is a list of registered participants and that the road is indeed 8 % steep and that 2,50 m cones are planned. There are some swiss skaters expected to show up: Martin Siegrist, Maurus Strobel, Chris Hart Jadranko from pscontest.ch and others. The racers list was not published. The organizers seem to cut short on info here which I think is a pitty. Also I feel bad that I will not be there, but I will head to the mountains again next weekend for a season ender.

Every Skateboard is allowed!

up to 300 meters, we will see

it´s the same timing equipment as on the tunnelslalom last year

- Is there a list of participants so far?

not at the moment. so long there are coming many swiss riders, some from berlin i think we have 40 riders on the constest

- Are there many locals in Munich?

like 20 to 50 people. most of them are downhiller or surfing only in the city

- or are you expecting also Swiss skaters?

YES

- Any hope of other nations participating?
perhaps some people form the UK????

Is it a straight course ? or an offset course ?

Do you have a 'course setter' ?

If it is LONGboard Slalom, there should be a only Long slalom boards up from 36''... this is only my mind.

The French had a similar discussion a year ago if "short boards" should be allowed into "longboard contests" and it was decided that there should be no separation. Skateboard is skateboard, enter on whatever you like. If you race better on a long board, use a a longboard. If you're better on a shorter, use a shorter. In reality it is the course that decides the equipment to use.

PS. Sorry I will not be able to come. Hope you'll have a great time. Please post the results here. In a separate thread. If you have pictures or write a store post them too, or send them and I'll edit html pages for you. Which ever you prefer.

That's the reason why we take two boards two Munich. A short one (78 cm) and a long one (114 cm). We will try the course with both and the better one will race.

(just thinking about my german lesson ...)

...and the fastest racer wins ... that sounds absolutely clear !!

J/Dani is right - if you know less use all that skates.

May be a short board fits the course, too.

Hello alltogether!

Here are the Results:

Women:

1. Natasja Wolfsberger (Team Airflow/Switzerland)
2. Niomi Reichel (Team Indiana/Switzerland)
3. Bettina Luginbuhl (Summit/Switzerland)

Men:

1. Rafi Schaffner (Team Airflow/Switzerland)
2. Martin Siegriest (Team Airflow/Switzerland)
3. Aki van Glassow (Team Rollladen/Switzerland)

There were 40 riders registered, 36 men and 4 women. For qualification the times for both lanes were added. 8 riders could reach the semi-final. I have reached it. But then I have lost. So I have made at least the 8th place and this is great for me.

For me it was the first time to race in a contest.
It was great, but I have a lot to learn.

There are some pictures and videoclips available under "http://www.cruisin.de" under "Bilder + Filme" under "Münchner Parallel Slalom".

I hope I'll get the chance to race again in the near future.

Nice pictures, looks like fun and I wish I could have been there, but the snowboarding was awesome too!
