Indoor Comp, Gothenburg, Sweden 23rd Feb - Travel etc

Post by Martin Drayton » Fri Jan 04, 2008 3:32 pm

There are a bunch of us from the UK who have booked flights for the World Indoor Champs in Gothenburg on the 23rd February 2008. We were just wondering if there was any news or information regarding travel from the Airport (we arrive on Friday 22nd @ 21:25). There were rumours of free accomodation too...we would love to know more (we are all house-trained!) Also the location of the venue, so we can work out whether to rely on public transport or we should rent a car.

Thanks,

Martin.

ps. We also realise that Team Sweden is based in these garages all winter training and you guys are going to win everything, but what the hell, its a cheap weekend away!

Oops, you won't end up in the right town then...

It's in Stockholm as far as I know! Or did I miss something?

Maybe he wants to hitchhike across Sweden and stop by in its capital, which is Switzerland.

I don't think you should trust everything you read on the internet.

From what I have heard the race will be held in GBG, in their 'new' training facility which is flat but tres grande from what I have seen on pics. So - it's not the greasy garage of EC '05 and its not the fantastic garage of Winter Clash '06. But something in between.

And what do I know. I'm just a poor sailor, lost in the winter.

Ramón should I pick you up, I might take the car from the capital (Switzerland)?

Should be a blast, can't wait! It'll be nice after the weather we have had in this country since May to know you are going to skate somewhere dry!....Even though the Swedes are going to smoke us ;)

It's really a mess, but probably it's in Gothenburg then. Too bad for those who booked a ticket to Stockholm early. I'm thinking of Michel Dupont, for example, but maybe he never got his ticket.

Good luck to everyone, have fun!

Well as a matter of fact, we did buy our tickets to STOCKHOLM as mentioned on the contest calender !!!
Nice job guys, with excellent update information. When it comes to organisation, finally, it looks loke more of a mess than even in France.

Don't trust to much reputations from Internet!! It depends mostly of who is crying louder than other and trolling on the forums! ;) ;) ;)

It's all just speculations and no words from the organizer(s).
Shall we start a round of betting?

I'm betting I won't make either location.

GOTHENBURG?

Post by Sam Gordon » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:43 pm

The Swedes have this http://www.dubliner.se/ in both towns, so us Britskis are just fine. Begorrah.

Ale is an example of a light brown or reddish brown beer that has been rapidly fermented at high temperatures. This fermenting process gives ale a fruitier and more complex taste than for example lager. Ale is found mostly in Ireland and Great Britain. There are different variations such as mild bitter, pale ale, brown ale, old ale and barley wine. Best served room tempered or at approx. 12°C.

Porter/Stout is the highly fermented and very dark brown bitter beer brewed from charred or browned malt. The stout is less sweet, and could be considered as dry, especially the Irish. However, it has a full, black fruity taste with a strong hop flavour. For best flavour it should be served at room temperature.

10 euros on Gothenburg.

Tack Pelle, sounds not only good but excellent (don't exactly have any experience in driving around with one meter of snow)..

PS Didn't get the wrong tickets, on january 5th Stockholm still was the location on the contest calander
