I always look forward to visiting my motherland, but to race there as well is even better!
I hope there is an Albert Heijn nearby as I have to bring some goodies back home for the the folks, stroopwaffles & hagel mostly!

Team GB are staying at The Bastion.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Hardly likely. But I will enjoy the Chocomelk.

Last time I went to Amsterdam the streets were flooded. Same happened in Venice I must be some kind of jinx.

Anyway, as I used to live in Holland it wll be nice to come back, via Bruxelles, so safe trips everyone,...

Success! as the Dutch say.

There is a HA and a Dirk van der Broek ten minutes away from the contest site.

Chocomel rules :-)

The weather is good. T-shirts on. Very light wind.

Oliver Otten is on the list and the others are out.

I will be at the location from around 5 PM on.

I wish you all a safe trip to Amsterdam

Congratulations to Janis, Ramón and Dominik! Seems like Ramón was just 0.09 seconds from taking a triple...

You are so picky one second this way of that way, does it matter? ;-)

Its the DQ's that have been the problem, the women hybrid finals are now updated and the pros didn't have any DQs so they should be fine. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi there,

I apologize for the late post but after getting home at 23:45 last night after the contest and waking up at 6 AM this morning to go to my regular job for a series of meetings during which I had no access to a PC I finally find sometime to:

First of all thank everybody that came to Amsterdam to compete and to help us organizing this event. Donald did a great job on the mike. The GOG crew took care of the course very well. Shame we had minor problems with the timing system.

I also think that it is better to bear the burden of organizing AND running the event myself next time. I do think this way I can prevent misunderstandings that up to this moment were not made clear to me.

But DONALD THANK YOU!!! I could not have do it withou you guys help.

I could not have done it without these guys help neither:

Wouter van der Hamburg, thank you for using your days off and time after work to put this contest together

Cyrril Schardijn: Same as above and time out of his holidays.

John Deurholt for the website and promotion

The support of the city of Amterdam

The sponsors: Hardcore Supplies RULLED. Pavel, GOG, The city of Amsterdam, Stroom Vormgeven and Vans.

I wish I could have forseen a few problems with more antecipation, however I must say my vieuw of slalom skateboarding has changed. I see it better now, I think I needed to put my glasses on. :-)

The contest will happen next year again, that is a sure thing.

Congratulation to all the winners.

Now it is time for me to go to bed and try to sleep, tomorrow it is another working day.

Oh yes....before I forget

I also want to thank my wife Margareth and my niece Aline for staying up until late on Saturday and Friday making 480 sandwiches. You are very brave. THANKS!

See you all next year.

Secondly, you mentioned yesterday that video of the competition would come available on-line, can you say anything with regard to the timing (when can we expect it) and the location (Where can we find it) of this video?

Not having been to a European race since Paris I was amazed to see how much faster everyone has got since then. It was just a shame both my ability to skate and negotiate cones took most of the day off only returning in the latter part of the day!

It was good to catch up with everyone again though, especially Paul, Bart and Cyril. I will look forward to racing with Martijn next year when he has GOG’s on his new DK model!

A big thank you to Flavio and the Dutch Crew and of course Donald and the GOG for all of their hard work and ensuring that everything happened.
I would also like to pass my thanks on to Joop and his wife from the Café Rooseboom (?) for keeping us supplied with coffee, beer, chips and croquets over the weekend!

There was some really good close racing over the two days and it was good to see some of it make it on to RTL, TV coverage is good for us.

Congratulations to all the winners, and of course well done to Louis who took home a “Bronze medal” for Team GB – although I didn’t hear anything about that one on the BBC, ha, ha!

Here’s the link to my photo’s from the weekend:

Sandrine and I would like to thank you all for making possible this 3 weeks of slalom racing across Europe.

It was nice to see all of you again, and it was a real pleasure to meet George, Cat, Skip and all racers we did not see before in Europe.
We are already planning our US trip for next year :D

Thank you Flavio, Dutch & GOG crew for Amsterdam Euros!
Maybe everything was not what we can expect for a main slalom event, but races were fair and competitive (even with timing system issues) and we had fun. We hope to come again next year.

Thank all the Czech guys too. Policka is also a place we want to come back in 2009.
You guys were really friendly and organisation was perfect.
Maybe you just need another race place for the special slalom (eg giant place, with parallel races)

And last but not least thanks to the Gothenburg crew for holding the Worlds : for sure one of the biggest competiton ever. You deal with rain issues and make everything happen.
Just a thought : 80 euros is pretty expensive for racers when there is no meal in the package.

Another general thought : women category should always be consider as PRO. We can't ask for more ladys to come racing, when this is often this category wich suffer from schedule & timing issues. It must always be Women finals, even for 2 or 4 racers ! it take only few minuts.

Hope to see most of you in Grenoble

Guillaume & Sandrine

Unbelievable.

Don please describe the board and we will keep an eye out for it. I do think we can find this asshole.

@ the Dutch skaters:

Dit kunnen we niet accepteren.
Er zijn heel niet zo veel Pavels in Nederland. Zo dit is makelijke te vinden.

it was one of the alva pool decks
antonio won it and traded it for a pavel pool deck
i traded that board for henrik since it had such a long wheelbase and henrik loves those.
sadly the board never made it home
i know it won't come back either but i was so frustrated about this i had to post it

no worries
