Ranking if all have the same status:
best three results for GS, best for for Tight slalom (sraigth, special) and four best for special slalom.

We have a lot of good competitions, every competition is special in his way. Competitions in the City, competitions at the Sea, competitions in smaller towns. The problem we have is, that we have just an amount of statuses to give because of a balance of the ranking.

As you can see in the pdf file, this balance is used of 5,8 % of the US visitors and lower than 3 % of the European visitors in US. This is the balance which say’s how many competition your region has.

After 4 years of running this system the date show’s that it is not realistic to coninue with this system.

- 5.8 % of all entered competitors in European races are US racers.
- lower than 3 % of all entered competitors in US are Europeans.
- The race with the biggest no. of competitors from Europe in Europe over 3 year’s lose their status because of this system.
- Switzerland with a lot of good racers had to go outside of their country to collect points.


This system will bring more problems in the future.
The problem was this year in front of the door. One of the two big events Paris/Hannover would have to step back if Grueningen would held the race in August.

We have 8 races which have the potential to be a Main/Major. Not to forget that there are now 4 races with a lot of spectators (Paris, Hannover, Riga, Zurich) other will show their potential this year (Gothenburg, Panevezys, Grenoble). This organizers want to show what slalom is, they want to have a lot and the best racers.

Our Problem in 2008 will be that we have the double number of potential organisers for the high status than the amount we have. What if italy want’s a main too ? What when the netherlands come and the belgians ?

The World Ranking goes over 3 seasons to blow up the data, the question is for what. We compare us with the US racer’s without racing against them. The Ranking which is showen is not realistic.

entry fee
dates

and others where we must decide intuitive:

location
accomodation
organisation
communication / media
history
race quality
added animation/happenings
