Very nice park! And it looks like you had a lot of fun there!

It's a pity it is on the same date as Bukolik Freeride...

OK, maybe next year? Or maybe the date of Bukolik Freeride will change? ;)

Just check the photos and video of Oerendhard 2006 on http://www.Oerendhard.net; maybe then you'll change your mind!

Oerendhard appears to be every last weekend of July.

It was one of the greatest contests I've ever joined; organised by the http://www.skateboardfederatie.nl ('Brambo' Waterman) with fine music, great moves and amazing prices...

Donald, what do you mean?

Ha, Ben-G probably knew that when he picked the date ;)
So when you win, you don't need us to sing for you?

No kiddin': the date still has to be confirmed.

Donald, what do you mean?
I guess it doesn't change. And yes, I have vistited the homepage. (Why would I mention you had a lot of fun if I hadn't seen the pics?)

Ehm, you're probably wrong with that point. Bukolik is a 3-day downhill-freeride event in the middle of the alps (versus a dutch slalomcontest)* and since you don't really know the guys from the downhill scene you can't really make a statement about it.

*that's only for the contrast, as I posted above I would surely like to participate...

Once again, intersection could not have been avoided...unfortunate

But yes, if ever there's is an empty seat in your car, I'd like to hop in and drive off to that spot with you - unless there's no downhill competition that day.

Well, I know him about 25 years, so if anyone can persuade him, it's me!

He now even considers to block the slalommers and longboards from the Oerendhard competition .... But I wrote him how I thought about his narrow-minded consideration and now I await his reply. The decision is not final; I try to persuade him to organise contests just for slalom skaters! He is a member of the Dutch skateboard federation, so in my opinion, he has obligations towards slalommers and longboarders!
Also, he needs the slalommers and longboarders more than they need him!

hey fast reply
this is what we can do to encourage your buddy to make the race attractive:
2 starting ramps
cones
timing equipment
a bunch of good-world class-racers to visit the race
some prizes to give away
we can help you guys in a lot of ways and you get a really good competition going
with us.

maybe your friend has to see some more intense races and this will help him
change his mind.
if the venue is good it will be bigger next year, once the word is out.
maybe we should talk on the phone?
shoot me your # and we can talk a bit

Well in the mean time we still have 1 slalom contest, which is fine by me.

I suppose he is also somewhere right: there is too little space and time in Oerendhard/Oldenzaal to organise more than 5 disciplines with contestants from all over Europe... Paris has 3 days for 3 disciplines!
You know, during Oerendhard there's enough support by sponsors and contestants, so maybe it's time to either spread it out over more days (maybe even a week?) or to limit the number of participants there. But in that case it should be registered as a "Dutch Nationals", which it is, in fact.
Anyway, it's his decision, not mine. I have to travel a long time to reach Oldenzaal; Paris even seems to be closer than Oldenzaal (by public transport)...

i know him...
see when bram put on that contest at oldenzaal he had german participants in there too
i know a few of those guys who were there.
so that talk about locals only is bs.
tell him i said "hi" and if he wants to beef his contests up a bit he should talk to me.

I must admit that he didn't mention "locals only", but just a reduce of the promotion, so there wouldn't be (I quote him): "a large group of international slalomnerds" and "... if the amount of participants becomes too large I have to cancel the slalom", "So I ask you to stop the promotion of the slalom part" (=translation from his original message, see your private messages )
