big thank you's to all who came(especially our french friends!!!!!!!!!!!)the forecast was grimm and we had temperatures below zero.this day made an exception.it was chilling but the sun made it cool to stay.
the race was cool and relaxed, the crowd was cheering and there was interest in the sport.

the prizes were alcohol and x-rated stuff which made the race even more intense(there you go).
some folks didn't show up(please don't send me e-mails again asking for the next session, when you are too lame to show up) .if you wanna push things then be there, this is not about being cool ,this is about racing and commitment-you lost.one guy decided not to race because of the crowd gathering, hmmmmmm.

whatever.joe "DOC" leonhardt was the timing guru and he did a good job-hey thanks again.

thanks to all who showed up.

It's too bad the weather and scenery was so sketchy. Otherwise you would have had a GREAT DAY for SLALOM in JANUARY!

You better practice :)

C-U all soon!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Day

Thank You to Heiko and Donald for sponsoring this race.

What a fantastic day this was.

The best weather You can get in January in our region. Pefect starting ramps. Time system without any errors. Smooth organization. Super crowd (easily 200 people), watching and cheering (especially on zero-cone-runs). And a smile on everybody's face.
Every racer was a winner. Shame on all those loosers who stayed at home.

Charles, Adrian, Fred and David, thank You for coming all the way from Paris. You guys are getting better every time we meet.

Big kisses to my kids for letting me go.

Homer was unbeatable today. Wait until I start praticing again.
I am happy I didn't come in too far behind Schulla.
Dominik made me nervous today. I guess he will bust down the door in the am-class this year.

Hey and after all. know what:
I am still in the lead in this series, followed by Schulla and Homer.

Now leave me alone with that DVD I won today.

in Paris too some of us "forget" the helmets when racing on flat... specials on flat with lots of offset gates...

You had ice eventually. Nice pictures, you guys had fun !

to all:

here are a few thoughts i had this day...

basically it's a shame that only a few selected guys are there to stir things up a bit.

we had fun a good crowd and it was good for us to skate and it was good for the sport somehow too.

what's happening with the rest?

there's people out there-here in germany-some even run a forum,nothing happens,nothing.

i mean,hey,what is this?

somebody else has to step in and get things going.
it can't be that i have to be the only guy to get things going.
let's make an exception for axel fischer-he's a good guy and he does a few really good things from time to time-all the stuff he does is absolutely professional and fun.
it's not that difficult to do something people might enjoy or what makes people willing to travel long distance.
i also don't want to hear"hey,i have so and so much work".
i get up at seven and go home at seven.inbetween i find the time to do things which could be cool for other people-if they are willing to work with me and the stuff i want to do.

don't get me wrong here, but this is really frustrating to see how the situation is at the moment.
all those folks who feel attacked now,yes you may do so.maybe you should spend more time on the track than on your couch.

i really find it sort of frustrating to see how things are handled, especially here in germany, when it comes to putting on a race or whatever to get people together.
watching or commenting alone will not help growing the scene.
time to think about it.

however,i/we will continue to create some excitement, good races, good vibes, whatever you want.
thanks again for the few "driven" who came and participated.

Donald, man, I am coughing my lungs out since 4 weeks now, there is snow on the ground, it is zero skate time in January, it is damn cold, a weekend with lots of traffic in the forecast.

My old injuries from the Waterloo Battle always ache when it is that cold outside and you dis us for not showing up..............man, I am old!

All excuses, I know, the pics look awesome! I should have been there. Cool, very cool............thank you

Yeah! A big THANK YOU, DON!

This is what skateboarding is about. A pressure-free contest with fun and camaraderie being the real prices for participating. (Though the G.O.G shirts rocks!)
Hell, on my way back to Cologne I felt like I had a killer day in the mountains, my face burning from the cold and those hours of the first sun rays. ;)
The location and crowd could easily rival those of Paris.
This was priceless.

Adding to that stoke was the pool session with the frenchies and Dominik on Sat.
What a perfect weekend.

Don, remember how we both were last year this time?
I learned that even though you most times have a big mouth on the web, you have an even bigger heart and commitment to the sport. I highly respect that and can´t wait for Brixlegg.

HAPPY B-DAY GREG!

cheers
alex

it was good to have you guys around we had fun we had the most ever spectators on any outlaw race before.
that's our own record.
let's wait for more video material from david and more pics from dominiks cool aussie-friend.

the great western race this april will be almost the same location as this one.

future thoughts from my side:
2007 a bigger race at both locations, this ensures big crowds, perfect racing surfaces, lotsa schwag and excitement.
let's see what the "great western" brings and we'll move on from there.

greg:happy you knwo what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
